Big george was my favourite HBO commentator. Would always point out something that i wouldnt have thought of. Very insightful

Down goes Lou Duva*!" ~ Lampley * who is already midflight* This content is protected "If anyone anyone gets any closer, I'll distract with an insult. You clobber'em George!" ~ Larry 'Old Goat' Merchant. This content is protected ~ "That was close, I almost got KTFO, thanks for saving my ass George!" Jim 'JetPack' Lampley *Lou Duva is a soldier, he was fine.
Great video. and the guy at the top of the screen at 1:43 has got NO CHIN. None. He got KTFO big time :rofl he throw a punch just fine but when he has to take one he doesn't want to fight anymore. Lol.
Yeah by looking at this clip you can tell who the fighter is,that's for sure. Foreman an OG! Lampley even left his 16 year old daughter in the crowd by herself. He mentioned it at the end.
He certainly wasn't about the deferential politicking as much as Steward is. And he was certainly more articulate than Jones, and polysyllabic than Lewis. And yeah, real. Might not have been perfect, some of his ramblings were.. :blood - but he was relatively good in the role.
George Foreman's issues with HBO are more than just George being "too real." In some ways he may be willing to speak certain things, but really, he just isn't that good of an announcer. Many of his comments were off the wall. Things he said seemed disconnected from what was actually happening in the ring. He's really just not that good of an announcer and Larry Merchant was willing to call him on it.
Too funny. :rofl I'll always remember the way George had words with Lampley during the Barrera-Hamed fight. Lampley was being an idiot then. Those were good times on HBO.
Foreman was an awful announcer, sure he stood up for what he thought was true but half the time what he felt was true was the opposite and he surprisingly added very little in the way on analyzing a fight. not to mention the hundreds of ******ed things he would say that were hilarious and pointless "the ref is the 3rd most important man in the ring tonight" "look at his shoulders they're huge!"
i agree...he was rooting for trinidad until the end....but when the fight was over...he ate his crow with a smile. the other bozos were never man enough to do such a thing.
