It seems we have quite a few good HW prospects out there and that should get people interested. I think in 3 or 4 years the division will be exciting again with this crop of heavies that will be hopefully turn out to be the stars of tomorrow. There are plenty of young Heavies that HBO and Showtime should be showcasing.

Andy Ruiz Jr,born in Mexico (speaks perfect English) who was fighting at 290 pounds is now down to a slightly less fat 250-260. He stands at 6'2 and has a record of 15-0 (9KO)

Although he's on the Chris Arreola diet he has a pair of the fastest hands in the business. Check out this clip of his last fight from July 7th when he scores a 5th round knock down and closes the show with an 8th round TKO.

*On a side note,Ruiz Jr's skin is possibly made of Bologna.

Ruíz ran his record to 104-8 under Cuban trainer Fernando Ferrer. He went on to win two Mexican National Junior Olympics gold medals and won the World Ringside Heavyweight Championship. Andy represented Mexico in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games qualifying

he looks a bit fat, but not on the Arreola level, plus, looks like his fundamentals are much better than Chris, looks like he can be a serious player, if he trims it down a bit

Why the **** don't they go the extra milage to be the best in the world? Imagine his hands at 220 or 210.

Haven't seen this kind of talent in a long time. If he would train like David Haye then he would be a contender.

I've been keeping up with this kid for a bit now, and I am very impressed by his skills. He has cut down alot of weight, but he needs to shape up even more. He is only 22 and he does seem to take training alot more serious than Arreola so let's hope for the best.

Kid has some great speed, power and his combinations are badass. Definately one to keep on eye on.

Hopefully he will continue to lose weight and get into good shape, you never really see that happen though.

I mean like the majorly overweight heavyweights getting into good condition.

He runs 5 miles a day! He actually lost about 30 pounds since he used to weigh 290. I give him credit. If this guy got down to 235 even,it would be awesome. But some fighters are just fat ****s and will never be chiseled.

He was born in Mexico but he has been living in America for quite some time now. He's a good guy, sort of has a child-like innocence in his interviews.

He's fit. He is what we would call in "deceptively good shape."
He's chubby yes but he runs the miles and can compete for the full 10 rounds.
Just like Chauncy Welliver who was about 300 pounds but finished a 10 or 12 round fight not even breathing hard. I agree though that it might be good for him to trim down a bit.
