Its hard to talk about unfinished works but very confident either Klit would, Lewis, Ibeabuchi, Holyfield, Bowe, Tyson would in their prime years... If u are talking domination, which is a strong word.
Lewis or Klitschko. Neither would be out boxed. Dempsey has a puncher's chance vs. either, but outside of him it would be relatively smooth sailing for Lewis or Klitschko.
I have said before that Dempsey ALWAYS has a puncher's chance. Its his defense, focus and size that give me pause... Not his power.
Rock wouldn't win a round. He'd be lucky to land anymore than a power punch or two a round. To slow, to sloppy, and just too ****in small.
Does Marciano always have a punchers chance too? or does Dempseys knockouts over pig farmers, barroom brawlers, and light-heavyweights enough to convince you he hit harder?
Maybe post 1953 he was, but before that Marciano's right hand was a 1 punch KO bomb, in my opinion just as good as anything dempsey had
Not in mine. And even the great Walcott I KO was preceding by a wearing down process. Sure, Joe was KTFO but he got slowed down first. Dempsey had a ridiculous record of 1st round KO's.
I not sure how much stock I put in the 1st round ko record, since Dempsey didnt give his foes time to get up. Marciano didnt really have that in his favor, had Rocky fought under Dempsey's rule set, I pretty sure in the 2nd Charles fight, Marciano would have ended Charles in the 2nd round. Even with the tactic of circle behide his foe and attacking him from there.
Because he fought a bunch of Ham and Eggers and didn't have a neutral corner rule. Dempsey often needed many punches and knockdowns to finish off his opponents. Marciano pre 1954, once he landed flush you were usually out with only 1-2 bombs. I think Rocky hit harder than Dempsey.
Most of his losses between Walcott and Marciano were robberies or controversial: Walcott 4 (close controversial), Layne (outright robbery), Harold Johnson (close - some on here scored it to Charles). The Valdes fight I've heard numerous reports, so am unsure, it maybe the only clear loss though
Rock was never stopped or remotely closed to being hurt. Kilt is not stopping him. He might win, but rememeber Vlad couldn't even Ko Adamek, who quit knowing he couldn't win and was taking too much punishment.
Rock was very hurt by Walcott and Moore, the modern equivalent of cruiser weights. We are talking about Vitali not Vlad. And you are referencing a fight with a FORTY year old Vitali not a prime Vitali. Again, and I know the bar is set pretty low in these parts, are we assessing a prime v prime or a prime v geriatric match-up here? Other than that, everything you state is totally on point.
