According to this guy on the scene, he apparently said that oh **** it, read it in full and make your own assumptions...in regards to khan, he is finished at world level, 2 KO's and the amount of punches he has taken in his last 4 fights is worrying for someone his age...the king has FALLEN!!...

"I spoke to Asif Vali, He said they are making changes in the camp, Roach is going to be kept but they are hiring Nazim Richardson who will be with Khan throughout the entire training camps, Roach going away and traveling will work with Nazim Richardson, Vali said that Bernard Hopkins made the recommendation to Team Khan post Garcia fight and Bernard has said he has worked with both before and had no problems. Ariza will be back again to replace Ruben Tubares, A new contract is being discussed with Ariza, and Nazim Richardson has agreed in principle to train Khan with Roach still being the head trainer.

You should start getting news of this over the next few days, remember to check Asif Vali's twitter."

    Thanks

From the SCENE....remember this may not be true so do not jump to conclusion.

It's a good appointment if true. I would've gone with Nazim or Virgil Hunter. But there's very little that can be done for Amir at this juncture. Although Roach, as good as he is has definitely deteriorated, imo. And can't communicate as well with his fighters, that's not to say if Khan was with someone else he wouldn't have got stopped. Only a matter of time really.

For the Calzaghe fight Hopkins had Roach, Nazim and John David Jackson as part of his team

It was only after that Freddie stopped working with saying Bernard should retire and Naz took over as head trainer.

I know Nazim doesn't like bouncing about so that should hopefully really help him. At this stage he massively needs Steward to work on balance, footwork, range, straight punches, technique etc

Tall, rangey, fast - Steward excels.

Khan's problems do not lie in his coach imo.

True. And we've all commented extensively on what his problems are, even before the Garcia fight and it was no surprise he got KO'd again. But i also think that it becomes a game of 'giving yourself the best chance' and i don't think Roach is a good fit right now.

He'd be best letting Freddie go altogether.

They aren't all that compatible and Freddie is deteriorating at a pace IMHO.

I never really thought about Naazim, given that he's a Muslim and a pretty philosophical kinda guy he might be able to make Khan grow up a bit.

It'll certainly be a change for him, having gotten used to working with Hopkins and Mosley.

Agree with this, he's still quite young so if can get his ego in check and admit his flaws instead of throwing out excuses and work on them he bounce back fairly well. As was said earlier Manny Steward would seem a decent match.

good point. though from all the stuff i've read from bro nazim - he's not too hot on this ameteur style. and i doubt he can rework khan enough for his liking.

would definately work for khan in terms of personality. Nazim is smart but not mad like say floyd snr.

i would say is a good appointment. maybe take a good 5-6 months just working on technique before a ease him back bout against a non-puncher - so khan can test the waters.

listen to Hopkins interview from another black guy from radio raheem or something - on youtube - post garcia-khan fight. He hints at Khan needs to go back to the drawing board. Which I've heard Khan say myself, he also hinted that on one of the griff videos - where he is interviewed by a local bolton area news channel.

    yo welcome back!!

I think they are trying for everything here to save Amir's career or enforce something that may not even prosper. Amir will need a guru in order to resstructure the thought process and feel of the fight game. Naseem is a wise choice and keeping it all in the wild card may be a sound collective, but i reckon this may be a bit too forced.

My brother from another...how are ya?

He's ganna need a time machine and a brain transplant, lol. Nah seriously the flaws are too ingrained and habitual. But a change can't do any harm if it's the right type of change. The sad thing for Khan is, the kid could've won that fight with just a jab. Garcia is nothing special. Like i said though it was only a matter of time before someone punched with him at the end of extended exchanges. I actually expected Peterson to do it, and although in fairness he did try in the beginning but changed up after he was overwhelmed by Amir's speed, which takes a little time to get used to. But can be got used to quicker than any other fast fighters speed, because Khan doesn't vary the speed of his punches. Absolutely no change ups.

What was it Jay Z said in 'Public survice announcement'. No matter where you go, you are who you are playa, and you can try and change but that's just the top layer.
