Did Khan just train too much prior to the Garcia fight?

Usually top level fighters train for what, 2 months, whereas Khan had basically been training since beginning of this year with just 2 weeks break. Does he now need a long break to recuperate? That much training can't be good for a person, especially with the intensity most boxers train at.

OK, Let's use that same excuse for Victor Ortiz then.
(Let's blame it on the Roids, for ****ing up their fights)
^ Some truth in this I guess...

Training less isn't going to help you keep your hands up at the right times, use correct technique or apply a gameplan to a fight. None of which he did.

Khan: "Blah blah blah people can say all they want about overtrained, we are proffesionals and we timed blah blah blah we are 100 percent ready i'm in the best condition ever blah blah"

    Before the fight.

    **** the excuses.

    and I'm a Khan fan.

He made a terrible mistake started to fight the wrong fight and got beat.

It's not an excuse, I'm asking if you think he did or not.

And I mean could the training have had an effect on his body/chin?

He's not making an excuse. He's just asking a question. Calm down.

And no, I don't think he did overtrain. The fight didn't even go on long enough for us to see what his conditioning was like the. The short moment it lasted, Khan looked good physically.

Tactics, as opposed to training, is what went wrong.

    There is...

Ask any proffesional athlete who requires to be in a 'peak' condition on a certain day.

physically and phycologically you can be overtrained..ITS A FACT.

You think you can maintain a high work load every single day? your body has a limit. and so does your mind.

:patsch don't be an idiot, that's why one needs a good trainer to prevent overtraining.

But in Khans case, it wasn't a matter of being overtrained. He simply was overconfident not keeping his hands up and was trying to go toe-to-toe instead of boxing.

No signs of overtraining IMO. Got caught with a good shot that he shouldn't have.

Khan was easily winning the fight, but he took some risks in order to look spectacular and got caught on the chin for it. Simple as that. He doesn't have the chin to fight the style he really wants to fight.

so why he not extending rubens contract then apprently, not saying it was not the tactics but still if that was the case he must have more confidence in ariza than ruben

He probably does. But so what? Just because he's going back to Ariza, it doesn't mean his conditioning was the reason for the loss. Ruben's work was good, but maybe he feels Ariza's is better? Nothing wrong with going with the option you think is more beneficial for yourself. It doesn't mean an excuse is being made (if that's what you're implying).

No he just has a glass chin... His legs just give up on him. KO's affect boxers differently, and Khan can't take a punch.
