The current Wladimir Klitschko would destroy any version of Corrie Sanders

Sorry, but Sanders went right at Wlad. Not sure what fight you were watching. He clearly was the aggressor and applied pressure from the start. I am a Klitschko fan but even Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder saw what happened in that fight. He also was not afraid to engage with Vitali. Fact.

Watch the fight. Or you must be Stevie Wonder.
The first round starts with Sanders circling on the outside and Wladimir in ring center fending off and putting pressure little by little with his jab. Sanders is on the retreat for a good minute, brushing the ropes with his back. At 2:12 he fires his first accurate left hand WITH HIS BACK TO THE ROPES. Then he goes back on the retreat, staying in corners, moving along the ropes, etc. At around 1:00 Klitschko throws a combination and half lands. Sanders jumps in with a left hand and stuns Klitschko. ONLY THEN he went at him, seeing that his man is hurt.

Haye, unlike Sanders, has a glass chin and was clearly worried about Wlad's power. He couldn't afford to walk in as recklessly as Sanders could.

I do think that Haye could knock Wlad out if he just went for it. If he came out throwing bombs, there's a chance that Wlad would panic and get knocked out. Every Klitschko opponent has that chance but nobody he has fought since Sanders has had the mentality to do that. Wlad's power is a big part of his defence in the sense that it forces his opponents to be more cautious than they need to be.

A reckless, aggressive style will always be effective against Wlad, I think. Combine that with power and he's in trouble.

Sanders had the power, handspeed, and just enough size to reach Wlad.
Sanders was beating Wlad to the punch.
Wlad's improved defense is basically just clinching more, slowing down the fight. But, since Sanders was able to beat him to the punch, the jab and grab won't work, because he'd still get nailed at the jabbing part. To beat Sanders, Wlad would need to learn to punch on the move, and learn to use angles. Something he does not really do.

I cannot believe some people here still think Corrie Sanders could beat the FAR IMPROVED wladimir klitschko of 2009-present. Really, Wlad is so much better now than 10 years ago it's not even funny. The current Wlad would never chase sanders, he would make corrie come to him..and keep corrie at a distance.

Your in general, what do you expect?

Half these people don't even watch boxing, they are just here to blindly hate or nuthug the latest fashion.

You can tell by most of these comments they had no idea what the hell even happened in the Wlad/Sanders fight in question. Sanders didn't beat Wlad by reckless aggression, he hurt him with effective counter punching. Once Wlad was falling all over the ring and unable to fight back, he than aggressively finished him off. Sanders wouldn't be able to counter punch the current Wlad, he would just get picked apart by the jab and probably get put down by a right hand in the middle-late rounds. Even if he hurts Wlad once or twice, he knows how to clinch and regroup now as he did against Haye. Than these same fools would be talking about how Sanders had a bad chin and was scared to be recklessly aggressive against Wlad..blah blah.

The OP is pure conjecture - A bit like a Tyson Ali fantasy match up

What we do know for certain, without a shadow of doubt, is that when Vlad and Sanders did face each other Sander won quite comfortably.

I'm sure many Klitschko fans were just as certain that Vlad would win that time too...

Yeah but then you can make a argument that sanders didn't really train proberly and left ALOT of stones unturned. Makes you wonder what would happen if he trained even harder for that fight and the vitali one.

    That's Sanders whole career.

I've seen some on here argue if he took his career seriously and trained more consistently, he could have went down as an all time great. He had the tools but than again so did Ruddock, Lyle, Morrison, Golota, Grant, Mercer..etc.

As is, he was a dangerous 4 round fighter and Wlad fought an incredibly stupid fight that played right into his hands.

Wlad has improved technically. He hasn't improved his mentality or chin, the two things which cost him against Sanders.

Not sure about that, Morrison has showed up for fights hung over and Mercer fought one of his best fights 10 lbs over his best weight with an obvious gut.

But a 225 lb Sanders isn't in that bad of shape, it was his lightest weight since Rahman in fact.

I was speaking about the potential of his overall career ceiling
