! He does ! , all these cretins here accusing Abril of beign a " spoiler " , " ugly " , etc , ¿ what was he supposed to do ? , ¿ lose the fight ? . They better start getting used by the cubans domination because it won't stop . Lol . Peace .
All you pussies just got f** ked , Abril's fighting sooner than you think , he's fighting Rees for the vacant WBA title . ! So much for " nobody wants to see him again " talk . Abril by UD ( unless he gets robbed again )
Not a done deal and in the UK. You really think this will be on USofA TV? I'd be surprised if he ended up with lunch money out of this fight if it gets made.
I would not mind watching Abril again. I like all styles of boxing. Obviously would not pay to see him but hell throw him on an undercard on HBO or Showtime. I feel he earned it after having schooled Rios. Rios was one of the top dogs at 135. Kid has earned his shot. I dont ever want to her you Cubans hate on Molina though. Molinas style is actually better to watch as he does very good work on the inside.
I think Abril is taking a lot of unnecessary stick for fighting a tactically perfect fight against an opponent he wasn't supposed to beat. Yeah, he spoiled a bit, but in all honesty, Rios was initiating just as many clinches as his opponent, who likely would have been content to circle and pop Rios with counters throughout the fight. His style isn't always aesthetically pleasing, especially in close...But given that he always finds a way to stay right there with any opponent he fights, his matches are intriguing at any rate...and I don't think Rees-Abril will be any exception.
It ain't just that one fight, Drew. His slop-fest with Acosta was :scaredas: :barf, and Lundy vs. Abril is literally the worst fight I've ever watched in person from ringside...and I've seen a lot of debutants and local tomato cans with like 4-15 records going at it on undercards...
i give Molina all his credit, kind of feel sorry how he's ignored by everyone. But remember the diff between molina and abril...the first goes after the clinch because that's how he likes to fight, the second only clinches when is forced to fight inside.:good
Abrils a damn good fighter, I like watching dudes like him that don't have the natural gifts yet have the ring iq to beat people that do. Him and Molina deserve extra props imo for beating dudes with more talent and natural gifts based on their smarts. It's amazing to watch them take away someones strengths. I can't wait to see Abril back in action, I'd pick him over the rest of the LW champs, Demarco/Burns/Vazquez
That performance was PBFesque.I liked alot of what I saw. People knock on fights like these but lets face it. Abril was not going to go in there and brawl with Rios. His best shot was to pull a Hopkins. Might be ugly but to me it is very impressive as it shows dedication and skill. I was very impressed too how people knocked on Molina for pitching a shut out and refusing to trade with Kirkland. Do you guys really expect a couple of feather fisted punchers to trade with heavy artillery fighters??
If you aren't in the ring willing to initiate your fair share of offense you don't belong in professional boxing. Period. Ticket sales count.
Demarco yes he would be favored over but Demarco is game as hell so would not be surprised at an upset. Burns I dont think i have ever seen so IDK. Vasquez is the fight I want to see. 2 technical fighters playing chess. Dont know who to favor in this one to be honest.
You dont gotta tell me. I am Mexican. I appreciate a good scrap but I also respect the guys who just find a way. If it was so easy to spoil and beat elite opponents hell none of us would be working 8-5s.
