**** Kirks ESB Championship 2012 ****

All three should be "II", all rematches.

Boschiero and Mendez already have fairly comfortable decision wins over Fegatilli and Honorio respectively.

 

Just saw that one judge had it a draw, but really the two judges who scored it 116-112 were closer to the mark. It was on the PTP vs. Cintron undercard (understandably forgotten for the most part as all most people remember of that night is the Frog incident :yep) Even Honorio thought he lost.

Martin was a decent fighter in his day, I just think his day is done. Mendez is a decorated amateur having lost only ten bouts out of 250, is trained as a pro by Joan Guzman (yes, that Joan Guzman), spars competitively with the likes of Jorge Linares, is the younger fresher man, and has psychological edge from last time.

:think Maybe not quite so much of a toss-up.




...but, war Honorio!! I hope he can dig deep and it is actually competitive.

I don't know, I keep going back and forth.

Prime Acosta would pick his teeth with Hovhannisyan...but...

If he can mug and spoil his way to the final bell and make Art look like **** along the way (not hard to do; AH tends to wait on his opponent a lot and has no clue about avoiding clinches) I'd been thinking he might be able to eke out a close and possibly controversial decision based largely on past reputation.

If he's as fragile looking as he was in October, though... :err I keep getting flashes of light-hitting Abril rocking his socks off. Art isn't exactly an Arthur Abraham level puncher (although he fights like him, which is the main problem...you can only get away with that style with huge power...) but we might be leaning toward a very tragic end to Miguel's career and a SportsCenter hightlight reel repeater. :!:

Yep, that was just sad... but I like to believe that was just him being somewhat shot and having a bad day as being RJJ type (up close gatling gun) shot.

Huh. I actually think based on the Abril performance he's far more gone than even Jones. :conf

 

Based on that performance he is but like I said, I like to believe he had a bad day... right?!
