He will be beaten by the first elite fighter he faces. There's no doubt to me that if he stepped it up against Uchiyama, he'd get beaten convincingly. The best 'win' in his career is an extremely dubious decision over Ponce De Leon, who is about as wild and unskilled as you'll ever see at the elite level. All the calls for future P4P greatness are deluded.

The first elite fighter he is put in the ring with will beat him because he's the definition of a hypejob. People have bought into his 'mini-Mayweather' act but the fact is, whilst he may have the big mouth, he lacks the skill. If he was a mild mannered Mexican or European, does anyone seriously think he'd be rated as highly as he is? The fact he's a brash, cocky American is the reason he's getting vastly overrated. He has everything needed to be a star, except the talent.

I think he'll beat Escobedo, who is tailor made for him, but he'll lose eventually.

I'd have to agree to an extent that the kid is overrated, he has talent but I'm more hyped about Gary Russell Jr.

Hes the definition of an hypejob.

Put him against Gamboa and he will look like a bum.

    Nothing but an annoying gimmick.

It's impossible to make a judgement until he steps up. He looks phenomenal fighting guys who are slow, small, or just not at his level. We have to see him against a good fighter. He talks way too much for my liking. I love a trashtalker like Toney or Mayorga, but they at least talk trash. Broner just...talks. And it's always the same damn thing about how he's so good and on some higher level and then throws in something about how nobody can beat him...or Mayweather. Has to be the first guy to employ fanboyism into his own self-hype. It's really weird.

Hard to say, at the moment. I think he's talented and got the skills to do well, but right now he's fighting in a division he has huge physical advantages in. Let's see how he'll deal with LWs and LWWs when he moves up. And yeah, based on the ridiculous hype he's been getting, I wouldn't mind seeing him exposed.

Way to go out on a limb. I have news for you, pretty much every fighter eventually loses. The big question is when he'll lose and what type of fighter will he lose to. Classic hypejobs like Khan and Linares got beat by B and C level guys while in their 20's. Time will tell what happens with Broner. In the meantime, it's good to see young fighters getting some publicity, even if it does cause some people to hope for them to get beat.

i saw him years back on an espn card. WIIIDEST stance you will ever see. then when the guy walked to him he just put his hands in front of the guys face and moved them back and fourth like calzaghe did to that heavybag. the other guy just waited for broner to get close then dropped a right hand over the left hand while sliding to his left.

even against kickett he just looked so wild with little defence other than quick lunges and pull counters. that left uppercut come hook was a brilliant shot....even though i think he didnt think willie would duck to his right like that.

he is good fun to watch though. his power has improved. his jab needs some improvement but because he has the speed and combinations its more fun because he doesnt outbox guys he just lands a shot that they didnt see coming.

Pretty surprising they are putting him in as weak as they are still, but I guess it's because of what happened in the DeLeon fight.

I already made the point earlier in my post that Broner will lose to anyone who is elite.

Linares and Khan both had more ability than Broner when they were being hyped. For his level of ability, I'm not sure I can recall a fighter who has been as overrated as Broner has. There is such little reason for this hype, it's absurd.

Yeah, probably. They know that he got outboxed by a guy who never outboxes anyone and because of that, they won't let him go anywhere near an elite fighter. There's no mention of Uchiyama, even though he's the best fighter in the division and Broner is the, supposed, heir to that throne. Why? Because they know that Uchiyama would beat the **** out of him.

I might not like him for being brash but he's quite good. The only question is will he carry his power as he moves up the weights?

I can't agree witht this. Perez was top 10 when Broner fought him. Escobdeo is firmly in the top 10 now. Furthermore, they tried to match him up against Burns for the title but Burns said he couldn't make the weight and went to LW. They've actually matched him pretty well since the Ponce De Leon fight.

Adrien Broner does have skill. But doesn't match up to Mayweather. Not even close.
