Bob Foster vs. Roy Jones at LHW.

    This is just delusional claptrap.

    Reggie Johnson, Tarver, Virgil Hill, Mike McCallum and Montel Griffin are your definitions of "Middle Roaders at best"?

    And again, the head started bouncing off the canvas in his mid-30's after he already captured a heavyweight belt, had been boxing for 25 years and was a sure-fire, first ballot Hall of Famer.

    I see Jones outboxing Foster. He definitely had the edge in speed with feet and hands. At some point,however,Bob tags Roy and won't let him off the hook.....................or cross :D

    Jones would not of touched Foster if they were around in the same era; not with that chin.

    Foster stoops though, which gives up his height. Roy fought countless opponents of Foster's height and completely neutralised them

    Not to mention Harding, who for a time was a talent, beating Tarver and Griffin or Gonzalez who dethroned Darius or Woods who beat Gonzalez and Glen Johnson amongst other contenders. Even Hall gave Darius a life and death struggle

    Jones has probably become the most under appreciated boxer of all time. His competition didn't get much hype, so is underrated, he made beating them look easy, so they must have been poor? Except the era is as good as many and he faced most of the top10

    34 is not advanced age.He want more glory so he move up to heavyweight and than go back and never was same.That was his fault.Foster by KO.People just don't realize how dangerous and strong puncher was Bob Foster.

    very well put,most of bob's losses were to heavyweights.

    It took Foster almost 4 complete rounds to catch ancient Dick Tiger.

    King Seamus, your candor and effervescence amazes me.:D

    Foster, Saad, Spinks, Braxton, Conteh, Galindez, Johnson, Lopez, Pierre Fourie, Kates, and maybe Ahumada.

    I'd bet on these three in bold to give RJJr his toughest fights if their paths crossed.

    I'd bet on Foster stopping Roy in the middle rounds. Jones would never beat Foster with that lazy left by his waist. It would make things easier for Bob.

    Look, I'm not arguing against the greatness of Foster or of the 70's LHW. But dismissing the excellence and abilities of McCallum, Johnson, Hill and even Montell Griffin is just silly. And we must remember that Jones, Jr. was considered unbeatable for the better part of a decade. His fights became farces. He beat three sure-fire Hall of Famers, all three who would hold belts in the LHW division.

    Obviously, Roy's weakness in this argument is that his stay at LHW during his prime or somewhat prime years was short compared to Foster's entire career at the weight (with unsuccessful dalliances with the big boys). I understand this.
