ALL of Bob's losses were to HW's. Tho I was around at the time and a big boxing fan, Bob never emerged with me until the Tiger bout. I just went over to boxrec to review his career again. It appears he was a bit guilty of not defending against top contenders which was probably why they let Rondon snag the WBC belt in the early 70's. I've got the unification bout on tape from 1972, a brutal beatdown. To be fair, Foster didn't have a lot of competition from 68-72, the great decade of LH's of the 70's just coming into play. So he goes up and faces Joe and Muhammad. But his power and skills are a matter of record. He and Roy would have been an exciting scrap I can tell you. But...and I think everyone on board here hates me for saying this...but it is so hard to compare fighters from different eras. You pull up these all-time matchups and the modern guys will always look more ''bad-ass'' and chiseled. A 1970 RJJ wouldn't have been as 'beefcake'. A 1995 Foster wouldn't have been as spindly. Just so hard to judge.
Thats a fair point he did stoop. Still had that jab though. It wasnt a typical jab that just builds points. He had some smoke on it. Roy was an excellent 175lber. Still quick but he wasnt the Roy Jones that fought at Super Middleweight. Jones was more of a potshotter. He didnt put them together quite the same way. Not counting Roy out. He had supreme talent and was capable of beating just about anyone.
