Picked up gloves when he was 3 and never looked back.

He was never a NATURAL TALENT, he was/is a gym rat and that's how he got to where he's at today.

Boxing history is full of fighters who practically slept in the gym. Very few became world champs. He had talent too.

He is both. He's an example of a boxer who literally had everything: Natural athleticism, talent, coached from an extremely young age and concentrated 100% on boxing all his life, and a hard worker.

natural talent always bugs me as a term. People really have no ****ing idea how tough it is to become a world level boxer, forget about being an ATG in terms of skill.

Gifted. is a better term, but even then it's hard to discern what is a gift and what isn't

Out of all of the thousands and thousands of boxers in the world Floyd manages to be the best, probably one of the best in history. You are telling me that is because he works harder than almost anyone ever?

If that is your conclusion, you are stupid. You can't be better than EVERYONE without having unique genetic gifts that the others don't have.

he's both but people tend to see him more as talented than hardworking. 43 and 0 says it all.

He's a somewhat rare combonation of both. There a lot of people with natural talent who because of it. They fell they don't need to put the time in to get better. Mayweather shows what happens when someone with a lot of natural talent can do when they do put the work in.

If you have read the book "Bounce", I agree with you. It's not just Floyd though, I don't believe that there is a such thing as natural talent. Talent is just a myth. It's about people who put in their 10,000 hours to become an expert at a craft.

No, man. Some people learn specific things more quickly and have a higher skill ceiling than others. It's not so simple as just putting in the hours.

Read the book and see if you still feel that way. It is one of the few books that will change your perspective and the way that you approach life.

    Floyd isn't God gifted.

He's gifted by science (evolution). :D
