Kelly Pavlik, George Donovan, Anthony Mundine and James De Gale. One of these fighters could be the next opponent for Bute . This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
DeGale would be a great fight for Bute. He needs something signed soon tho in order to get ready for March. Did the Frochy/Pavlik fight fall through?
I think Froch vs Pavlik fight was a rumor ! Pavlik won't travel in UK !:yep Also De Gale would be a better opponent / test for Bute than Pavlik ! I think Pavlik is on a down way !
Very true. I'd love the DeGale fight. Is he scared to travel like Ward was? apparently he has passport issues and likes to stay at home.
if u refer at Bute's jaw , This content is protected :yep Bute has a decent chin . His defense and his inside game are weak . Very , very few boxers would've took Froch's hard shots and go on ! Those were powerful shots from a top smw heavy handed pro boxer i.e Carl Froch !
I doubt Bute's recovered enough to face past-prime Pavlik tbh he needs a B-level fighter with no punching power to win easily enough, the kind of guys he faced before losing to Froch
Lets say Pavlik has a soundly name and he's younger than Bute but right now is as the same level, lets say as Brian Magee or Johnson are . Many people bloated him due his last wins against poor quality opponents but in reality a guy like Bika would tear him ( Pavlik ) . That Pavlik who beat Jermain Taylor was at his peak of his career and shape ! So I think a fight between Bute and De Gale would be much competitive and interesting from my point of view !
No , he needs to fight with a good fighter and improve more his flaws i.e his devensive and his inside game ! He has to use more his hand speed and his footwork , his main attributes . Winning against an easy opponent will bring him false confidence and he will only do nothing but to lie himself .
Think DeGale is the way to go here. At a decent level and moderately recognisable name, but Bute should still have enough for him. At the same time, it's an opportunity for DeGale who needs to step it up. 26 years old and he's had 12 fights.
^ This. He's either going to become a better fighter, and soon, or his career is over. It makes no sense to play it safe right now.
