The channel has come under a fair bit of criticism, but I have to say I love it. It is fantastic for boxing, British boxing in particular. I've been a subscriber since the channel started out and I had a few reservations about the channel in the the begging but it's really grown on me. The coverage of the build up to Haye-Chisora, especially the "Beyond the ropes" 24/7 style show was excellent, there hasn't really been anything like that for boxing in the UK. There really needs to be a way to try to get boxing back into the mainstream in this country and while of course it can't just happen overnight and it needs the talent aswell as just the channel, Boxnation has done a brilliant job of making boxing regularly accessible to the public and for a very good price too. So far this year we've had Chisora-Helennius Chisora-Vitali Chisora-Haye Mayweather-Cotto Dawson-bhop Broner-Perez Aswell as Groves Bellew Cleverly Theophane Interviews with sugar ray, shavers, Lewis, bhop, hearns, steward, klitschkos etc Aswell as a lot of amateur bouts and other fights I plain can't remember I am never one to plug a product but I love that I have a dedicated boxing channel that really helps the sport
Plus they bought buncey back (although it's not real buncey, you have to listen to the William Hill podcasts for that)
They keep delivering. People said it would drop off after Floyd/Cotto then they had Haye/Chisora. You'd maybe expect some lean months after that but the schedule looks stronger than ever. Guerrero/Aydin Bailey/Alexander Matthysse/Olesugun Stieglitz/Abraham Mitchell/Burns Pascal/Cloud The future is bright.
it wont be long till they have all the boxing and sky have no boxing at all the only thing i dont like is alot of reruns which is fine if you missed a fight but not when they could be showing local shows or some thing like friday night fights that espn do/did (not sure) to show up and comers but other the that top channel in my book
Agree with vidic.Dont always agree with what frank ****** says but his statement about it being the price of a pint a week is spot on.Like sky also but boxnations trump card is buncey, nutty as a fruitcake but great entertainment and so clued up on the game.Would like to see his autobiography if it happened, from amateur days to the present. For me,if youre a fan youve got to have boxnation .My only worry is therell not be enough of us and it will fold.Great to see barry jones again, what a modest guy
Sorry if this question has been answered elsewhere but I've been away for a week. Does anyone have any idea how many Boxnation subscribers there are post Haye Chisora ?
It's fantastic, especially for overseas fights, but let's not gild the lily, their own production quality is a million miles behind sky. Thought the preview shows for Haye-Chisora, whilst a worthwhile effort, were way behind Skys Froch-Bute efforts which they nicked the title from. With the two channels picking up nearly every major fight between them though we've never had it so good.
The only problem they have at the moment is an expanded subscriber base from the Haye Chisora fight and a lack of fights to show til September cos of the 'close season' in Boxing
love it!!! pulled it around big time as it didn't get off to the best of starts with what was promised hats off
Boxnation has done well with the international fight and if they improve the quality of the domestic fights in the new season by getting the likes of Groves,Cleverly and Gavin active then i have nothing to complain about and Burns-Mithchell is a good start. The Brook show was a quality show on sky and by praising Boxnation it doesn`t mean i have to slag Sky off.I hope Hearn can keep the quality up,because i do like his events rather then the half empty leisure centre shows which Maloney produced allot and turned viewers away.
Good question, but I haven't seen any answer to that. And we weren't sure about subscriber numbers before that fight either.
I subscribed for the Chisora Klitschko fight and have stayed on ever since, good quality fights and always show most the undercard fights
