It was massive, I loved the fact that everyone thought Hatton would win, raked the £ in that night.

It was a very big fight indeed. Every one was talkin about it even women and old ladies! People who knew nothing really about boxing were excited for it. It was pretty special actually the excitement it generated.
It had that strange feeling around it when you know there is a mega fight happening.

I went to the press conference in Manchester stood there for 2 hours in the pissing torrential rain and it was worth it. I knew Hatton had absolutely no chance but it was still the most intriguing exciting event there's been for years in UK. I'd say it was bigger than Lewis vs Tyson tbh

I've always said the brits know how to support their fighters. I wish the US was like that with it's fighters man.

From an outsider's pov, this was the biggest moment that I can remember seeing. To me it seemed that the whole of the UK would have erupted had Hatton won. We would have been looking at another British Empire. They would have retaken Canada and threatened to burn DC again.

Some americans think it's a bad thing how much we support our lads, even if shock horror they lose or arent P4P top 2 in the world.

There's two way's of looking at it.

We are dumb and support anything which in turn gives us crap fights because we will buy anything.

Or we're great because we support Boxing and get behind the sport in a big way.

Personally I know which one I'd rather be in. When I see some of the attendances they get in USA I think it's embarrassing for the sport, if they brought the same fight over here it would sell 4x as much.

I think the best part about British boxing is that there is very rarely examples of fighters who get paid $1m+ purses to fight bums, having had EVERYTHING their own way.

Andre Berto didn't beat anyone to win his ''world title'', yet earned a fortune.

Even Khan, who gets a lot of stick, had to beat a few people first.

The best thing for me is that generally you've got to be accepted as being British champion before people reckon you're any good. Without that, you'll generally get **** all.
