he's probably seen an old timer like morales who was hearing ringing sound in his head whe he got hit before he retired.... now comeback and go the distance with guys like maidana and garcia.

How does he do this rapid weight loss? Is it just due to being in the gym all day everyday?

Malignaggi has been talking up a potential rematch with Hatton recently. Would love to see it happen, somehow I don't think it will.

He looks slimmer, but he clearly still doesn't look well. He looks a very old man for an ex-world-level athlete in his early 30s.

 

Because he looked well past it in his past few fights. He was poor against Lazcano and not only looked more vulnerable to punches but just not as sharp. He got destroyed by Pac and really was not all that good against Malignaggi either.

His lifestyle coupled with his style of fighting suiting a young man, caught up with him. Compare the Hatton from the Tsyzu fight with even the one who fought Malignaggi and impressed some people.

Three years later, having not done anything in that time but binge...how will he be anything but a lot worse still? Older, slower, more susceptible to punches, plus the wear and tear on the body and ring rust.

I agree with this but then there are fighters like Morales who were probably in a worse position than Hatton and still made a successful comeback. If a lot of Hatton's problems were related to drugs, drink and depression, maybe he can actually make a go of it a second time around?

I'm playing Devils Advocate there because I have doubts myself but if he looks good in training and he's mentally up for it, I'd say he should go for it. Who knows, he may be able to get a couple of good wins under his belt? The elite at 140, bar Matthysse, aren't exactly great fighters and some of the current top fighters in that division are moving up soon.

 

Would be funny if he came back, beat ,alignaggi and retired a 2 time WW champ. Paulie would NOT be a happy bunny,

 

I suspect Paulie is being lined up for Khan.
