What is the most times you remember a fighter being knocked down in a fight but still managed to win that particular fight?
Nevermind, he was only dropped twice. Marquez was dropped thrice against Pac I, and drew (arguably won by some people's cards).
''In 1909 Joe Jeanette was knocked down 27 times and still went on to beat Sam McVey by TKO in the 50th round'' wow
Lol back in the old days pre 1910 when an opponent got KO'd the round ended and they got time to recover 50+ rounds, hours upon hours of fighting... pretty much to the death or intill somebody quit.
Some more on Jeanette vs McVey from Wiki: ''Joe's most memorable fight occurred on April 17, 1909 in a return bout with [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_McVey"]Sam McVey[/ame] in Paris, France that lasted three-and-a-half-hours, and 49 rounds, the longest boxing match of the 20th century, and one of the greatest marathons in boxing history. Although McVey began the fight strong and looked like a sure winner, knocking down the usually sturdy Jeannette 27 times, and almost knocking him out in the 16th round with a right uppercut to Jeanettes jaw, he weakened greatly by the 19th round. Jeanette took control, knocking down McVey, a boxer (who had only been stopped once in his career, by Johnson), 19 times. After the 49th round, McVey could not rise from his stool at the call of time and Jeannette was declared winner on a [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technical_knockout"]technical knockout[/ame]. This won him the "[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Colored_Heavyweight_Championship"]World Colored Heavyweight Championship[/ame]," as Jack Johnson had defeated Tommy Burns for his heavyweight title the previous December.'' 56 knockdowns in 50 rounds  This content is protected
Wasn't Sumbu Kalambay decked about three times in his rematch with Herol Graham but still got the decision?
If i remember correctly Vasquez dropped Winky 5 times. I know that Winky did not win it but the scorecards were damn close. judge: Marcos A. Torres 110-115 | judge: Ove Ovesen 110-114 | judge: Marcial Vargas 110-113
I do not understand it - if a knockdown meant the end of a round, how is it possible to have 56 knockdown in only 50 rounds? (theoretically you may have 6 double knockdowns, but the chance for it is negligible).
