The TS has it mostly right. The facts are simple. Both fighters have gained ring advantages in negotiations. The most significant for Floyd was walking in over catch weight with Marquez. That did not change the outcome of that fight. In fact, the way he beat Marquez, the fight might have actually been easier for Floyd if he was lighter.

The versions of the common opponents Floyd fought were better than the versions that Manny fought with the exception of Marquez (it's a fair claim that Marquez in the First Pacquaio Marquez fight was the best version of Marquez out of the four combined fights). Cotto and De La Hoya were better at 154 than 145 or 147. The younger Mosely and Hatton were better. I don't think that's debatable.

Pac could have fought Margo instead of Cotto (after he beat Cotto). Everything you said just proved what I said all along, Arum (and all promoters) "manage" a fighters career.

SSM was "with" GBP as a partner and left them to fight Pac, He could have left GBP at anytime to fight Pac. (why did Arum wait until after . . . as Pug put it. . . he was shot?)

Are you saying that Roach has No say on who pac matches p with next?

Shane Beat Margo, PBF fights him, Beats SSM, Srum sets up fight with SSM.

Shane coulda left GBP anytime but fact is he didn't. He left once he saw the window after drawing with Mora but by then no one wanted to see this fight

Also, someone already made a thread a while back comparing like with like, it had more reasonable debate

This is it exactly, it does not undermine what Pac did (moving up in weight and fighting bigger guys) but for the most part Arum was careful how he matched Pac up as he moved up and the bigger names always has the leverage to dictate the terms (Oscar was arrogant and basically thought all he had to do was show up to beat Pac and drained the **** out himself, against PBF . . . PBF was chasing him for years and Oscar dictated the terms of the fight. . . thats boxing). For some reason they think PBF is ducking because he did not fight the 160 champ even though Pac and PBF are almost exactly the same size and they cannot answer why Sergio was never an option Arum gave Pac!:bart

PAC beating Barerra > Floyd entire career

Heck... PAC TKO Morales > Floyd entire career ( even Floyd agree )

But their argument was the fight between SSM and Pac never happened when shane went to Roaches gym and challenged him (and Freddie said No you are to much of a threat) was because he was GBP and not TR.

    That's just silly.

Marquez > Barerra and Marquez > Morales

I'm more inclined to believe the former reason rather than GBP being an issue. They had no issues negotiating with GBP for the Floyd fight post-Cotto so yea

And yet the threat part was legit by that time Pacquiao was definitely unproven at the weight though after that he was held to full WW standards

Oh, you thought I meant "I used to be a history teacher."

What would that have to do with anything?
Read that sentence again, and then feel stupid for not knowing what it means. Maybe some reading comprehension is in order?

was it a coincidence that floyd has not fought any elite WW until he fought mosley in 2010 but was already a shot fighter already at the time?

and can you explain why floyd only has 4 ****ing fights for the last 5 years? one against an overhyped quitter, one against a confirmed shot figther and two against former pac opponents (leftovers according to floyd himself)?
