Broner laboured like **** with DPDL, who Burns would have toyed with.

    Let's be real here.

I know it's fashionable to believe what HBO tell us but who has Broner beaten for people to believe he's such a force?

I would understand Mr VIP picking him on the basis that he's black, but FFS....

:rofl yes of course he would of because "Burns has the style..."

Why isn't Ricky Burns P4P number 1 yet?

    Because he's not that good.

But PDL is just a crude banger with next to no boxing skill and a weak chin.

    Broner nearly lost to him.

That's like Floyd Mayweather almost losing to Arturo Gatti.

Ok fair enough but open your mind real wide now...

considering what has happened today could weight issues been a factor in that performance?

He's got patches of class in his work, but most of guys he's fought are a lot smaller and are the type of fighters HBO stylewise like there young stars to face to look good.

Broner's short leads and counters are class, he's got a nice confidence in ring but he struggles to operate at range as effectively from what i've seen. Burns has the height and range and foot movement to make Broner pick up his feet and lead off which Broner at times struggles with if the opponent is moving. His straight punching would trouble Broner who tends to back up in a straight line. Burns works well off angles so Broner would be presented with his toughest test.

Burns would have to contend with the variety, the speed of hand and the good timing. Burns best wins are against more aggressive fighters then Broner.

I don't see a one sided beating for either man personally.

Most of us would have said the same about Ricky before the Katsidis or Martinez fights, doesnt make it FACT only and opinion.

There's not making weight........ And then there's NOT being able to make weight.

Broner has always been massive at 130. What is he 22, 23? It's easily conceivable that he can't actually make the weight anymore.

Its dangerous how some of these fighters are killing themselves to make weight. Something needs to be done about it... 24 hour weigh-ins I say!

Well if we went back to same day weigh ins i think Broner wouldn't like it at all IMO. He'd probably be fighting at Welterweight because he enters ring around 145lbs.

I think the IBF have the most sensible way of dealing with weigh ins in modern day boxing.

Good.. Broner should be fighting at WW. If that's his weight fight at it... All this boiling down and then weighing 10lbs heavier than your opponent on fight night is bollox.

24hr weigh-ins is the way forward. It would make boxers think twice about boiling down to unnatural weights.

I'm not sold on Broner yet either. A lot of style but i wanna see a bit more substance. He has a couple of flaws i've already notice, like his feet being too wide apart and he has a big blind side if you step to it. I think he's gonna struggle with certain styles. Particularly good movers like Mand says and fast guys.
