Fights where a fighter has been so called "Dominated" but actually had moments in the fight David Haye - Wladimir Klitschko Naseem Hamed - Marco antonio Barrera Timothy Bradley - Manny Pacquiao
David Haye didnt even show up against Wlad. No way. Underrated? No he sucked in that fight. Dave Didn't land 1 good punch. Running all night and ducking and falling to the floor aint ****. At least go out on the shield.
I think your over exaggerating a bit there, Haye landed some decent bombs and hurt Wladimir a few times (mainly in rounds 3 and 12) whilst remaining elusive using head movement. The reason he lost the fight is because he didnt engage or pressure Wlad enough and admittedly starting fumbling and falling over. Not saying Haye put up a magnificent performance by any means but he did a lot better than what most people give him credit for and this is coming from someone Who not only picked Klitschko to win but also knock Haye out
Wlad was holding on for dear life a few times that's true. I think that Haye from the Chisora fight gives Wlad some real trouble.
I see him doing better a second time around but not enough to win, even in the Chisora fight Haye was pretty inactive and the only time he fought was when he was forced to against a smaller opponent who stalked him. He cant do that against Wladimir who uses his size well. Normally a shorter fighter will stick to the inside and open up but Wladimir will hold and smother and push down (he was deducted a point for pushing Haye down) Haye would have to time Klitschko perfectly and counter from a distance which is easier said than done and be more aggressive, bob and weave to avoid the jab and explode on the inside and turn it into a rough ugly fight. The only kind of fighter I see beating Wladimir is someone who matches up to him height wise who has a good jab and beat Wlad at his own game and knock him out, the only person who comes close to that is David Price and even then its a tough call, will have to see how he develops
Anyone who fights Wlad and wants to win will have to go for the absolute kill in rounds 1-4. They have to throw many punches and apply constant pressure. It has too be ugly and brutal. If Wlad goes into "Wlad Mode" the fight is over and just waiting for the Wlad right hand. Price and Fury will have to muscle him as well. Lean, push etc.
dont see haye as underrated against wlad. especially after how much he talked. i think marquez vs floyd. considering how undersized he was, even though he got shut out, he made floyd work. and chavez when he fought whitaker. whitaker deserved to win, yes, but chavez wasn't blown away IMO. its actually an awesome high level fight.
I agree about Barerra-Hamed completely. People heavily exaggerate Barrera domination partly because this fight retired Hamed. I think that Pac dominated Bradley totally but I haven't re-watch the fight since. As for Wlad-Haye I watched only the last 2 rounds I think so I can't say.
I agree on that one too. Whitaker clearly won but when you consider that Chavez moved in weight past his prime to fight a fellow ATG in his absolute prime it wasn't such a bad effort.
was just about to mention that. complete boxing domination. and it was way more entertaining than the Marquez fight.
