You know damn well Ponce didn't land nearly enough to win that fight.

You just don't like Broner...and hate does blind..

My dislike for Broner started with him getting a gift over Ponce (so I wasn't bringing any dislike into the fight ahead of time...in fact if you dig back through old threads I was actually one of the very first people hyping Broner as an early prospect based on his talent) and then acting cocky about it as though he wasn't damn lucky to escape with the W.

Then everything he's done since in public has reinforced his obnoxious persona and made me like him less and less.

Talented kid, though. Can't deny that.

are you serious here? he's improved leaps and bounds since the PDL fight when he was green 20 yr old kid steppin up for the very first time vs an experienced ex champ who was at the very top of his game. he learned a lot from that fight and although it could have gone either way it was a great move by his team even though it was risky cause it taught him alot by throwing him in there with a champion level fighter at the top of his game when he previously hadn't een fought a top 20 type opponent.....the risk paid off in experience and he now knows he can hang at that level and won't be as reluctant anymore to let his hands go now that he's been on the big stage on numerous occasions....i think part of the reason he was so tentative was cause it was his first time on the world stage on HBO and if he took risks and got caught he'd have to go back to the drawing board and would lose all the hype that was being invested in him..... he'd ice PDL right now in a rematch you all know it! So does PDL which is why he declined it.

I want to see Broner get sparked by Uchiyama.

Broner beats Escobedo, maybe by stoppage.

IF it goes ahead, I'll go for Broner via decision/late stoppage. Escobedo is probably as good as him technically but can't match him for speed, size or power - three factors that I think will be the difference.

i agree with the speed and power thing but size?? Broner has fought his whole career at SFW whereas Escobedo has fought all but 2 fights at LW- not to mention he's got height and significant reach on Broner.....Escobedos a bigger guy than the Problem.

I was more referring to the weight he's likely to come in at but yes you're right, Chente is taller with a longer reach! I should've checked that beforehand! :)

i dunno where you've been but that's all anyone talks about when that fights brought up, so much so that he gets zero credit for dominating the dude manny lost to around here.
