I'm hoping this will turn out to be a good thing and not a bad thing....
*Yet another promoter giving other promoter's competition is generally a good thing...
*Possibly selling "50 Cent Promotions" off his own fan base/popularity will be a good thing for the up and coming fighters who feel they could use more exposure
*A promotion's growth premised on a rap star's fan base/popularity won't be taken seriously versus other promoters - this won't be a good thing
*Backing out of decent deals and fights because of underlying agendas and general shenanigans due to the thought of leverage thru the new-found popularity influx wont be a good thing....
*Doomed to be notorious because this is ran by some ghetto guy who's got too many skeletons in his closet will be first a good thing in the short term, and a very bad thing in the long term....... i'm sure eventually the public consensus on the american side will label boxing as some ghetto sport in the long term of his influence....

Boxing promotion is the perfect lane for 50 cent. He is an extremely savy business guy and acting wasn't a good look for him. Plus he can talk **** and create buzz with the best of them.

You do know Don King had killed at least 2 people before he started promoting?

50 cent is a good guy compared with some of the characters that have been involved in boxing through the years

True that.... If he's looking to shine at his best on the long term, i think it will serve the american fan base very well. he has a strong chance in bolstering a larger fan base and actually compete against mma. On the other hand, its very easy to shine on the short term... till you go back to old habits and behaviors

I believe one of them was purely on self defense while someone was B&E'ing his house. Im not looking to defend Don King though. And we hold men at a higher standards these days. Im not hating on 50 cent - im skeptical till proven innocent....

One of them was shot trying to rob one of his illegal bookies & ruled self-defence. The other one he beat to death over a small debt.

If you're expecting all promoters to be morally upstanding citizens then.....

Well 50 Cent seems to be a pretty smart guy and a good business man. It could be a good thing for boxing.

Dirrell and Gamboa are two bloody good boxers to get your business going with. I hope he doesn't turn out as sleazy as the rest of them. Insert some appropriate 50 cent lyric here.

Not really a fan of 50's music but I am a fan of his legendary work ethic. If he can bring this same amount of passion to the game and some more mainstream coverage for positive reasons then I'm all for it. Good luck Fiddy.

I agree this is a great move for 50, Dirrell and Gamboa......boxing needs more competition on the promoter side of the sport.. this will shake things up but 50 needs to surround himself with an all star or "dream team" in order to be successful. DLH did and he blew away expectations with GBP.......Curtis is a great business man but boxing promotions is a completely different beast. I hope we see 50 do things right so it will benefit the sport. Think 50 brings in Floyd's old manager (Prince)?:rofl
