50 Cent getting a Promters license could mean Mayweather might not need a "Golden Boy" to put on the shows?

The problem he has is making match ups and putting on decent cards without a stable of fighters. It will take super fights off the table for Gamboa.

He should be able to get HBO dates for Gamboa and maybe Dirrell can be on the undercard.

I genuine see Mayweather leaving Golden Boy now to get a greater control of the money he makes

You might be right but did Mayweather promotions ever have two boxers of the caliber of Dirrell and Gamboa?? (apart from Floyd obviously)

Not gonna happen. Bob Arum will die when he feels like it and Top Rank will be here long after he decides to die.

This is bad for boxing, Fifty used to box a little whe he was a kid, but he is for the most part, a casual overnight boxing fan, and he didnt even know who these fighters where until he met them at Floyd's Gym...Every one of his business plans have been failing lately, and he overrates himself as a business man, he isnt really powerful anymore, and he just tied gamboa and dirrell up in contracts...he doesnt know anything about them, the sport, he doesnt know anything about their strengths, weaknesses,...in his mind, he thinks, "Der, Im a business genuis, promoting should be easy...All ya gotta do is put them in bum fights, and make a profit"...if thats what he's thinking, then he will basically ruin their careers, and their both coming off long layoffs, so they are going to be rusty...Promoting is hard to do, even for a person who knows EVERYTHING about the sport...promoters try and fail each and every day, but 50 doing this, worries me....Your fighters have to be fascinating, so you can fill seats and make a profit, u have to put them in a FEW easy fights, so they can improve and sharpen up, but u have to put them in tough fights that are not TOO tough, but just tough enough to challenge them, so years from now, they can look back and say, "Hey, I have a decent resume" and u have to do all of this(improve their records, fascinate the fans) WHILE keeping them on as long of an unbeaten streak as possible...50 really thinks he is a business genuis, well this boxing game is tough and I rather him sign some olympic hopefuls, not two great fighters, tie them in contracts, and basically play a game of toss up with their careers...I HATE this

Mayweather Promotions is just like any other new promotional company...its HARD to promote, and its a struggle each and every day...I positively see this as a bad thing for Dirrell and Gamboa, 100% cuz 50 is a overnight boxing fan, knows nothing about the sport, didnt even know these fighters until he met them at Floyd's gym, and he overrates himself as a business man, so this is basically a know-it-all who thinks he can do the TOUGH task of promoting..Im very worried about this situation.

Wow, thats a very interesting comment, but can Floyd use TMT to promote outside of New York? He's just gonna gamble and fight outside of vegas, and end up getting screwed, rude, on the cards?

Fifty is an overrated business man, and he has been flopping for the past several years..Richard went to college, and Oscar is smart, and was basically the face of the sport..Floyd is smart, but Not as smart as Oscar...and Fifty is basically a goon who thinks he is business saavy now, when he has been failing lately..Im not hating, I just love boxing, and if u love boxing, this should make u irrate...just cuz ur biased for every single little thing Floyd does, does not mean its alright for Fifty, No Brains, Cent to tie up fighters like Gamboa and Dirrel in contracts..Thats just not cool at all man, u test ur little promo company on some olympic fighters, u dont tie up fighters like this, I like fifty, but I will turn on him in a heart beat for something like this, the guy doesnt even know who gamboa is, he just met him last yr, then lied and said he was one of his favorites

I see 50 and Money making a strong and formidable force. This cannot be anything but a positive for our sport. TR is still the Big boy on the block but anything that will keep them honest and force them to fight fighters outside of their stable can only be a great thing.
