Shut the **** up, you know damn well what the agreement was for. Ten pounds over CONTRACTED WEIGHT. Cut the apologist bull****.
Damn it, I'd really like to be able to plan my night. Am I doing a RBR, or taking my 40 weeks pregnant woman out to a spicy dinner and then trying to lubricate her cervix with special sauce to induce labor????
lopez signed up for 154...escobedo didnt sign for 133, or 143 :deal who says i'm happy for the lopez vs canelo fight ??? that's not a fight i wanted for canelo
He's standing his ground against an arrogant bully and manufactured HBO "star". Good for him. **** Broner for his stubbornness.
4cornersboxing ‏@4cboxing Broner- Escobedo Update: Team Escobedo has reached a decision which they will announce shortly
Well Escobedo isn't guaranteed another shot at a six-figure payday like this. Broner, despite this ***** ass stunt will still almost certainly come back to HBO for his next fight. Escobedo on the other hand, doesn't have anything guaranteed. I mean he was in a position to take a lot of money from Broner, and still have negotiate something to where he couldn't weigh in past a certain weight on fight night. THEN call it off if he doesn't abide. Make him sign a contract where he pays you out of his own money, so if he doesn't make weight, you can cancel the fight, AND have a contract guaranteeing you money from him.
Here is what Adrien Broner did. - He didn't eat properly. - He came in over the scheduled weight limit by 3.5 lbs. - He did not try to make the weight when given an opportunity at a revised weigh-in. Broner is let off the hook. He is given the opportunity to come in at 140, along with Escobedo, the next day.... - He fails to make another weigh in mere 24 hours later, coming in 3 lbs over the newly arranged limit. Annnnnnd scene. It's got nothing to do with Escobedo bitching out. I bet if they could see Broner sweating, dehydrating, looking skeletal as he tried to make 130 and failing, they would have taken the fight on a heartbeat. The issue is, Broner showed total disrespect. Escobedo and his team called Broner's bluff. And thus the fight was cancelled. Don't try to shift blame.
Do you really think that Escobedo couldn't have tried to negotiate something to where he couldn't? AT LEAST TRY? For example, say "you can't come in over 145 one hour before the fight."
:deal It is the behaviour of someone who is starting to believe his own publicity. This should be a nice little reminder of exactly where he is in this world.
atsch u dont know wtf i was referring to. it was this comment vvvvvvvvvvvvvv they clearly ARE NOT that far apart in weight.
