http://www.ringpolska.pl/boks-na-swiecie/waga-ciezka-boks/20248-jameel-mccline-sprawdzi-deontaya-wildera Kelvin Price, who was supposed to fight one of the best American HW prospects, Deontay Wilder(23-0, 23 KO) on 4 August, has withdrawn from the fight because of a rib injury. Wilder's promoters now have to find a subsitute. According to ***********.com the boxers with the biggest chances to replace Price are Rich Power (16-2, 12 KO), Fred Allen (14-0-1, 6 KO), Just.in Jones (15-0, 9 KO) and Jameel McCline (41-12-3,24 KO). 42 year old McCline last time out was outpointed by Artur Szpilka. this would be a huuuge step-up for Wilder, what do you think?
Why? Is it a financial disagreement. Are your demands higher than those of the original contract with Price. I suspect they would be Ding. Price is an untested prospect himself, and with almost no hype like Wilder. Chances are he is getting near to nothing for the fight. And I doubt you'd fight for the same purse split.:think
Actually, I was offered the fight for a said fee and I accepted. The manager don't like the fight. I can take real good shot. Don't let the Boytsov fight fool you. I took that fight coming right out of the holidays, I hadn't seen a ring since I fought Pala in November. I was really tired, not discombobulated. Look at my face when I was down, lol. :tired My power is very under rated on this forum, but the people on the inside are well aware of what I've done to a number top fighters in sparring. I just never liked to train, but that position is reformed now. we'll see....
Hey, wassup, Ding?! I didn't know you were an E.S.B. member. Now, you know the protected "Bronze Bomber" and his management want no part of the "Ding-a-Ling Man"!
Still a step up for Wilder. Good for him. He already sparred with Haye and Thompson and they were complimentary of him. McCline is gonna get "Deontayed."
Wow it's cool to have a guy on here who knows the business first hand. Me and my Dad saw you fight in New York in like 2001 or 2002 I think. In Queens New York.
That's the fight where I had blood pouring from the top of my head and was robbed of a knockout win in the last round. Do you have video of that bout?
I hope it's NOT McCline. Sure, he's the most well-known of the choices, and has the most high-level experience, but let's face it, he's old & slow. No one but an idiot would question Wilder's offense. It's his balance and defense that are unknown factors. (Plus how he might react to adversity.) Thus, he needs to beat young, fast opponents. - both for the experience it will give him, and also to prove to the fans that he can be a complete package. I'd love to see him fight someone like Jennings, but of course Wilder's management will never let that happen. - And also, Jennings' management would be insane to agree. ------------------------ Wilder is in a really bad place: Lousy management / promotion (they haven't even updated his website is 3 years!) plus he is so dangerous offensively that no really good fighter is going to want to face him. - there's no upside in it. Wilder aside, this is the basic problem with boxing as a whole. The best young prospects have to wait years & years before getting a chance. Often, it only happens when some other fighter pulls out of a major event at the last minute, and the promoter doesn't want to lose all that revenue. I sure wish there was an answer for this, but sadly, it will probably never change.
I think you and any other decent HW could have a solid chance at beating Deontay if you could take his shot. McCline won't though, Hes getting older, Hope he can pull a trick out of his hat.
old & slow but still busted the jaw of a young prospect.... Still would be a test at this stage of Wilders career...
you would have to be knocked out in the first round about 20 times in a row for him to fight you... he would feint if he saw your picture you have up right now (or at least his handlers would for sure) :rofl
