"The fight's on. The fight's on after we reached a confidential agreement," said Gomez. "Whoever wrote that the fight was off -- f__k you -- the fight is on."

The fight became jeopardized at Friday afternoon's weigh-in, where Broner (23-0, 19 knockouts) came in at 3.5 pounds above the 130-pound division limit. Escobedo (26-3, 15 KOs) stepped on the scale and weighed 130.

At that point, Escobedo threatened to pull out of the fight, but decided to allow Broner a Saturday morning weigh-in, where they wanted the champion to come in a 140 -- 10 pounds over the contracted weight.
The Broner camp wanted 143, according to Esscobedo's manager, Rolando Arellano, and that's what Broner weighed on the scales on Saturday morning, according to a report by ***********.com.

Escobedo, who weighed 140 on Saturday, and Arellano, initially said that they were pulling out of the fight.
But Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, informed RingTV.com that "Team Escobedo is having a team meeting, and they're going to decide what they want to do."

"The fight is on," said Schaefer, after the agreement was reached. "The fight is on, and that's all that really matters."

Although details of the agreement were not disclosed, sources with knowledge of the situation informed RingTV.com that Escobedo was "offered more money" by the camp of Broner, whose adviser is Al Haymon.
As a result of Broner's initial infraction, he was fined $60,000 of his purse -- $30,000 of which was added to Escobedo's take of $150,000, and $30,000 of which went to the Ohio Commission.

"It's fight time, man," said Broner, when reached by RingTV.com in regard to the latest development. "That's all I've got to say, man."

so is escos original purse 150k. then more than doubled. plus half of the 60k fine brush my hair boy got. so is his total more around 330k than 400k. thats a nice sized difference. but then again bscene says 400k too.

Escobedo should demand that Broner be given heavier gloves

Thank God! I lost respect for Broner and I still expect him to win but at least they reached an agreement. I hope Escobedo don't get blasted like Joey Gamache did.

i agree they should make brush my hair man wear bigger gloves. would be more of a challenge and give us a better fight. pac had to do it when he came in overweight and gave up his belt.
