Figueroa presses in and gets held. Salcido is using his entire body as a knife, sawing against Figueroa from shoulder to waist. Salcido shoves Figueroa away and then throws a big hook to the body coming up off both feet. Figueroa tries to push back in and jab out of the orthodox stance. His corner yells for a 1-2. Instead he throws a wild right hand and gets grabbed. The crowd has begun booing. Figueroa lunges in and scores with a right hand to the side of the head as Salcido is falling back into a corner. Salcido holds his left arm out in Figueroa's face to blind him and then tosses a right hand past it. Figueroa keeps grinding his way inside, slowly.

Why has it taken him so long to get seen?

I mean, I watch shitloads of boxing and outside that time he got cut from a Solo Boxeo broadcast (for whatever reason) and being the opening bout of the non-PPV undercard for Ring Kings I can't remember him ever being part of a televised bout. :?

 

Oh man, Shane vs. Zab six years ago would have been SWEET.

Figueroa is teeing off, backing Salcido into a corner. Salcido is looking fragile, slumping against the ropes and getting tagged cleanly. Salcido manages to get his arms wrapped around Figueroa just in time before the shot that would have probably put him over the line. The ref is staying close, just in case. Figueroa works some body shots. Salcido decides to fight back, dropping some kinked overhand rights while holding his left glove out against Figueroa's face to stabilize. Figueroa drops his head down below his shoulders and comes barging in, pinning Salcido in the corner. 27 to 5 connect advantage for Figueroa this round per the announcer.
