Not the quickest and left himself a bit open at times but a good showing. Needs to increase level of opposition and maybe fight a good pure boxer type who won't blindly trudge after him eating power shots. Promising.
He's cool. Good power, speed and personality. I couldn't help but notice similarities between him and another "Cane Row Fool" Mr.David Haye. Same hair, similar counter punching style, similar trash talking mouth and even the same sunglasses from the interview preceding the fight. He's a small David Haye basically. Should be fun to follow.
He looked like the fake David Haye. I was unimpressed and HBO was trying to hard to hype him up. He sucks.
How can he be a hype job? Most people have never heard of him. Oh, that's right, you hate Black fighters.
He seems to be rough around some edges. Showed nice resolve when facing a guy determined enough to absorb sustained punishment. But some of his shots are WIDE and he wouldn't land the left hook that devastated Lora against a top guy in that position. His shots are anything but textbook and he leaves his arm hanging out there after throwing way too much. He is kind of like a "power arm puncher" and his footwork is also needs improvement. He says he's been at it for 16 years, but he still a bit crude. Don't know anything about his punch resistance yet, but he has the mentality to be a very exciting fighter. I love how he goes to the body and is patient enough to break a guy down if necessary. Calling out Floyd is good for business, but he'd be cashing out in that fight (and he probably knows it). Thurman does not look hard to hit and the right opponent is going to test that chin.
Looked ok, showed, power, a little speed, counter punching and IQ, very likely would've embarrassed Maidana, which is why Maidana pulled a ***** moved and didn't go through with the fight.
Very mediocre. Not very fast at all, and obviously overrated power. He gets soundly ouboxed, or KO'd when he steps it up. I doubt he even beats tough journeyman.
