name a non american who wins and the day after hets put in the p4p list....im hearing Broner is top 10-15 in some posts...i would to know where David 2x weight champion Haye stands in their p4p lists. Seems americans dont actually have to do anything to get in it other than be american. Paul Williams made the top 10 p4p for winning one real title,WBO, Haye (im not a haye fan boy im just using him as an example) clears up cruiserweight, moves up and wins another title at heavy...and gets nowhere near it. Ask yourself...where would he be if he was american.
this is true for every boxer, it's just worse for americans, and it's true I've never seen the words Haye and P4P in the same serious sentence which when you look at what he has done is unfair, it's likely that he has never been mentioned because he has never beat anyone with 'P4P credentials' which is mainly given to Americans
But he is American, fighting in the US on HBO, therefore automatically him and his opponent are P4P warriors.
P4P means you are the best in your weight class as well as a dominant champion. None of which applies to Haye
A former Cruiser unified champ going up to heavyweight, giving away large amounts of weight and still winning, if that don't define pound for pound I don't know what does.
What makes Haye pound for pound then? Beating fatties like Chisora, then disgracing himself vs Wlad? Lol no
a fair definition of P4P: if every fighter was the same weight who would be the contenders and champions. Before I explain I do not rank Haye anywhere near the top of P4P, I just rank him above people like Broner, Rios, Froch, Kirkland, Chavez Jr etc. (One weight class wonders) 1. Won world titles in two different weight classes. 2. Unified a division. 3. Beaten everyone he has faced at heavyweight apart from Wlad, who lets be honest in recent years has embrassed everyone he has faced. 4. Given away alot of weight inall his heavyweight fights. As it is heavyweight I'll put it down to proportion. Haye weighs 210, gives away 30+ lbs every fight. Lets say Marquez, a top 5 P4P, weighs 140, therefore we will imagine if he gave away 20+ lbs every fight as 210/140=3/2, how well would he do against middleweights... I wouldn't even back him against a large decently skilled welterweight
not hard considering there are 4 belts in each weight class. Hayes cruiserweight rez is commendable he never fought cunningham. And at heavyweight he won the title from the worst heavyweight in history then loses every round to Wlad and disgraces himself. Not p4p material sorry. his best win at heavyweight is Chisora whos claim to fame is winning 4 rounds from a one armed 40 year old Vitali. Who else has he beaten of note? A shot to pieces never was that good anyway Ruiz? A split decision vs the worst heavyweight champ ever? Come on now lol. marquez fights skilled competition. The best of the best. Guys who come into the ring in shape. Haye best heavyweight win is a fat guy with mental problems. No comparison. Guys of Chisora or Audley Harrisons skill level dont last long in the lower weight classes. Look at Ricky Hatton as an example of what happens in the lower classes when a brawler fights a skilled boxer or boxer puncher like Pacquiao. Haye was lucky to be in an era of weak heavyweights, even then he is clearly outmatched by the best. Not p4p material Oh and Carl Froch's best wins are far and away better then Hayes
