DeMarco is with Shaw, I believe, who has a great working relationship with Golden Boy, so it shouldn't be a problem to make that fight. Bring it on. He'll definitely be the first boxer with a big punch for Broner (don't really count natural 122 pound Ponce, he's just too small at 130 and doesn't carry his punch up).

Marquez ain't happening, and I highly doubt Rios will either since he's probably will have a lot of trouble making a catchweight, and he's with Top Rank.

DeMarco/Broner for early November. BRING IT ON HBO.

    Hmmmm..Let me think...:think

You can bump this if you want.I've never ever said that Burns would beat Broner, but he will give him more to think about than he's had in a while.Being the underdog is right up Ricky's street (my only worry about Mitchell is that Ricky will be favourite, and that doesn't seem to suit him) and I hope to **** Broner comes in over against Burns because he was blowing hard from the fourth onwards and Ricky would punish Broner in those circumstances.
I'm as much of a Ricky Burns fan as anyone on this forum, but I'm also a realist and I know if Broner could get a bit of humility and shrink that big head of his,he'll be an absolute star.
But Ricky will give him a very tough fight and plenty to think about.Write him off at your peril. He'll push Broner as much as anyone in that division.
In fact I wouldn't be surprised if he goes straight to 140 just to avoid Ricky.

these two are class acts and would not be easy for broner, ricky's a great boxer and kev has great angles to confuse him.

    Yes Sir.

Burns can hold his own technically, I'm certain of that. Not as flashy as Broner, but top class fundamentals from the Glasgow man. Also factor in the size of Burns, who is a big LW. (He was a HUGE SFW). It's amazing how under-rated this guy still is. I'd pick him to beat Rios. Handily.

Kevin Mitchell would be in the fight for five rounds, but he would get stopped. His concentration slips at times, and that would be his un-doing. If you watch Mitchell, his lateral movement is in perfect sync with his foot movement, thus creating unique angles to fire punches from. Broner can be hit with an uppercut if the correct feint is thrown before hand, I'm certain of it. As I said, Mitchell would get caught eventually, but he'd put up a tough fight.

In September, we have two of the top ten LW's in the world fighting in Glasgow, and alot of people don't appreciate how good they are.

(As a side note, Miguel Vasquez is a nightmare for Broner.)

I agree with most of what you said except these two points. His big head has everyone on these damn boards talking about him . . . he is on his way to becomiing an "absolute star".

I have never heard any fighter jumping a whole weight class to avoid 1 fighter:D. If he did it would be to avoid the best fighter in the class (Gamboa . . . not Burns).

    While Broner is criminally overrated.

I have an ongoing joke with Cellz about the ducking thing.I try to add it into every Broner thread because I know there's a good chance he'll read it.

I suppose you're right about the star thing, although I kinda meant all he's being is a poor man's version of Floyd, and I think he'd do well to use a slightly different angle.Floyd had dedication as a youngster that Broner seems to be losing already.:good

How so? He lives in Coatbridge, just on the outskirts of Glasgow.
Maybe you're getting him mixed up with Harrison, who used to train in the Highlands.
Still don't see what the laughing emoticon was for, maybe you meant to put;

True, he could win all 12 rounds and still lose a split decision

Broner will be matched with Katsidis before he will with Burns/Mitchell.

How? He's a good fighter but thats about it. No doubt the guy has a lot of power and some nice speed, decent offence and punch variety but he doesn't seem to be particularly smart in the way he fights. Spends way too much of his time trying to be defensive when he doesn't have to, and for such a defensive minded guy he is pretty leaky at time.

Should be interesting when he steps up in weight and fights guys that he doesn't have a dominant size advantage. He is genuinely a massive super-featherweight. It might take some shades off of that offence.

But this **** about him being the future. He is nowhere near the package that people make him out to be. The Mayweather comparisons are absolutely ridiculous. You could cut off one of the arms of a 21 year old Floyd Mayweather and he would still make Broner quit on his stool after 4 rounds.
