Of Cuba's 3 amigos(being Rigondeaux, Gamboa, and Lara), Gamboa is the wildest. If he gets wild with Broner he will be peppered with counters.
Nah, Gamboa would the one getting knocked out. We've already seen him get dropped like 7 different times already by guys that aren't as fast and don't hit as hard as Broner. Broner would shatter that Cuban glass.
They said that Bamboa was more disciplined when he faced Salido and ate some good overhand rights, one that wobbled him and made him touch the canvas with his gloves. The guy knockdowned Siri in the last round and loswt 10-8 rounds by hitting him flagrant on the floor which made it a 8-8 round, 2 points deducted. Disciplined, LOL!
Gamboa is the faster thinker, mover , and has more power. Broner is good defensively but he would be to stationary against Gamboa and that will cost him especially whenever he opens up offensively. I can't foresee him walking down Gamboa but I do see Yuri walking down Broner.
Broner is not stationary...he doesn't energy and swing like a washerwoman the way Gamboa does. Yuri drops his hands after he punches.....Broner would be all over him..
I love Gamboa, but Broner is too big and strong for him, and is far better defensively. If not for the size/strength difference I'd possibly shade Gamboa but including them I'd favor Broner.
This fight would just be another example of broner fighting a tiny guy. At least fight demarco or burns for ****sake.
Gamboa is the stronger of the two, the weight will help Broner absorb punishment better but make no mistake Gamboa is the stronger of the two. bigger does not always mean stronger, Gamboa is an Olympic Gold Medalist and the difference will show when they fight. Gamboa is the stronger puncher and when they fight it will show just like the difference in class as Gamboa is a class above Broner. The Cuban style boxing that Rigondeux and Gamboa bring into the ring is the real deal.
Demarco is not as good as a lot of people think. He has heart, but he can be outclassed by the top dogs.
Gamboa's hands are waaayyyyyy too low and he squares himself up during combinations. It already cost him a few knockdowns and could spell disaster against a big, strong, fast fighter like Broner.
I feel the size will be the problem here, dont think this fight will happen. If it does, I feel Gamboa beats him.
