When people bash Broner for being a weight cheat posters bring up Rios as a deflection tactic rather than talk about the issue at hand. Like that somehow makes it any better
No, you know the deal TT, the same posters that are bashing Broner were defending Rios . . . at least in that thread. I think both guys are wrong but sanctions are in place for these types of infractions. They both broke the rules but people act like they were packing an extra 3.5 pounds in his gloves
I wasn't round for the Rios incidents but I shat all over him as well. They are both on the shitlist for their infractions :-(
well Broner fans feel as though there has been bigger backlash at Broner for missing weight, when Rios did indeed miss weight on two different occasions. and for the most part, Broner missing weight did have a bigger reaction. people say they also dislike the fact that Broner has gotten a gift decision. well, so did Rios.
then that means Broners fans are not referring to you then. they are talking about the hypocryte posters.
Race baiting justifying cheating, they ignore that Rios tried to take off the weight and Broner didnt even honor the sport in that sense.
At least Rios TRIED to make weight. He even came back for second attempts. Unlike Broner who, after eating junk food in the week of the fight, made it known he weren't even gonna' attempt to adhere to 130, and acted like there was nothing wrong with it. Even failing to stick within the second limit the day after. Rios was apologetic for his genuine failure, whereas Broner didn't show any remorse/decency for his refusal.
I didnt bring up Rios as a deflection. I'm not defending Broner thats not my job. I was just wondering why the outrage seemed to be more for Broner and I was answered because of the tweetpics, well for most people anyway
Are people really defending Rios by claiming he tried to make the weight? Newsflash, Rios came back heavier for the second weigh in against Abril. He didn't try to lose anything. Furthermore, Broner was 3.5 lbs. overweight. Most commissions won't allow a fighter to even attempt to lose that much weight. Anyway, both guys messed up, but I'm not too down on either one of them. A lot of times, your managment team pretty much forces you to fight in a certain division. Both guys simply out grew their division.
It's pathetic. Rios failing to make weight has nothing to do with Broner failing to make weight. Broner's fans are trying to turn justified criticism into some kind of ridiculous race war.
:deal that's to be expected from idiots who turn to race right off the bat. Good Ol Team G non-racists!!
