5 weeks for a legal hit.

What a load of bull**** and the media and some in the NRL sport in general should be ashamed.

As now it opens a can of worms for a shoulder charge to be outlawed.

But this is why i stopped watching AFL as they have slowly turned that into a pussies game. Thats one of the main reasons I started following League.

Now they give Inglis 5 weeks. He should get off as like Ive said the Souths number 4 was tackling Young further down a split second before Inglis Contact.

Now you can pretty much stamp out Shoulder Charges out of League as if someone gets hurt it will be minimum 4 weeks.

Pecks Im ashamed to be a League fan right now.

The other factor is Merrin was in Inglis's face and was saying who knows what, he revs him up so GI makes a massive hit to shut the Saints up and his reported for it.

I just think sometimes League regress because of media driven tendencies.
I read someone's post on Foxsports and they said Next they will change the Shoulder Charge then next Kicking then next the scrum then tackling then they will be playing Touch Football.

its black and white that you cant make contact with the head, Inglis will get what he deserves, JWH got 1 week last week for far far less.

contact is made with the head nearly every tackle. luke bailey got forearmed in the face twice in one set on the weekend and noone has said boo about it. but because this was a good shot its ok to punish it?

    Disagree.
Prior elbowed a guy in the head. GI's initial contact was in the chest. GI never left the ground, and had Young not of turned forward at the last second, it would have been nearly impossible for GI to hit him in the head. Not saying that Young isnt allowed to look forward  but I really struggle to understand why the tackle was graded a grade 4. Union players who shoulder charge and get suspended for it get less than that, and the shoulder charge is illegal in union.

GI's was hardly different to Pritchard's and Teo's earlier in the season. They get 1 week, GI gets 4.

It's a poor decision, and the NRL is still too heavily influenced by fancyboy pen men like Rothfield, etc.

its pretty simple really, when you see a guy put his full force into a shoulder charge that makes contact with the head, which causes the guy to be KOed for 5mins, that is 3-4 weeks.

Shoulder charges are great but hitting the head is far too dangerous. you could die from it if your hit just right.
