what he done was wrong and out of order but you have to RESPECT his skills and power how many fighters with recons like valero?
The guy was one of the most talented boxers I have ever seen. And tbh he should never have been legally in the ring: "On February 5, 2001, Valero was involved in a severe motorcycle accident in which he wasn't wearing a helmet. He fractured his skull and had surgery to remove a blood clot. This injury was sustained prior to him launching his pro career, and it created roadblocks to major bodies sanctioning his fights. Valero claimed that his Venezuelan doctor cleared him to fight on January 17, 2002, and he turned pro that July with a first-round KO. Valero appeared to hit the jackpot when he was signed after his 12th pro fight by Golden Boy Promotions. Valero was scheduled to appear on HBO's Boxing After Dark, but in January 2004, he failed an MRI due to brain scan irregularities in New York and thus was not allowed to fight in the United States. As a result, the fight did not take place. He continued to fight outside the US and on March 25, 2008, Valero was cleared to box in the state of Texas.[10]" truth is, when he was fighting, I watched. The guy was crazy, a beast, Shame he couldn't control himself outside of the ring as he dd inside! And when my son gets older, ill tell him about this great fighter, who was a crazy mo fo and make him watch the fights, watch him train, and highlight the talents that he had because I love boxing. And Valero was great at boxing. Outside of boxing, he was a mess!
he was an accident waiting to happen in the ring. check out how he drops his hands after throwing any punch. gamboa and them would have knocked him out. anyone with any power had a chance.
He was a beast in the ring...a genuine monster. I've said this before, but I think he was a rarity that I'm unlikely to see again for a long, long time. He was vicious and brutal. There isn't anyone at 135lbs right now who could live with Valero. He'd knock the likes of Burns, Broner, Vazquez and Molina out. He would have gone on to rule that division for a long, long time if he had the mental strength to stay focused. The end of his life was sad all around. Sad for his wife, his kids, for himself and, though it isn't nearly as important, sad for boxing too. He could have gone on to great things but drugs turned him psychotic.
he doesent deserve sympathy but neither hate he wasnt a straight headed guy who one day decided to act out of character he had a brain injury from that motorcycle crash. that made him extremley volitile mentally and i imagine at a much higer risk of death due to more blunt trauma in the boxing ring. the fact he was allowed to box is quite sick
Valero might very well have been a peice of **** outside the ring, there is no excusing what he did to his wife in any way but inside he was a badass who could punch like a mule and had very under-rated boxing skills. If he hadn't had his motorbike accident that prevented him getting licensed in the US and if he had the sense to keep a trainer for more than 10 minutes he could have been a big star. A real waste of talent, he would have really laid waste to most of the guys at 135 and would have great to see him when he eventually go to 140 or maybe even 147 but that just wasn't to be.
Hell of a fighter, to bad he was a ****ing scumbag maniac. Watching him come up was fun, but ended so terribly. Such a shame.
**** this scum bag! yeah he was a good boxer & had savage power but I hope he rots in hell! So for the sake of the above argument I say - why are we discussing a fighter who's best win is Demarco? **** him
