Dillian Whyte...

Seen him a few times, looks a good prospect, sure he's only had about 5 fights but has sparred hate and chisora a few times

 

Domestic level at best. Seems to have good power, but lacks in some fundamentals which means he'll look like he's seen an alien when someone puts a jab on him. This sport is difficult enough without having come to it late and from a different discipline to boot, which seems to be happening quite a lot these days.

 

"Domestic level" Haye,Fury,Price,Chisora etc domestic Heavyweight scene is very strong at the moment.

Dillian is only 24 has a 7-0 record he has improved massively since his debut in May 2011 and has stopped 4 out of his last 5.

He is still the first person to have put Anthony Joshua on the deck and still the only British fighter to have beaten him.

He apparently has three fights lined up before the end of the year and rumour has it there are a couple of big names in the mix so soon we will be hearing alot more of him.

I think he is a very exciting prospect with a great future ahead of him.

I'm a big of Dillian, he's shown a lot of improvement since his debut & is getting quality sparring against all the top HWs in the UK.

I think he'll go far, I like his aggression in the ring & his personality outside it, seems like a genuinely nice guy.

I actually don't think his power is all that. He caught Rasani flush multiple times and never dropped him, let alone stopped him. Rasani was done in pretty quick fashion by Bellew, McIntosh and Kenny Anderson. And straight KOd by Dean Francis years back.

Not stopping him is not a big deal, but the fact that he landed so big on numerous occasions and didn't put him over, raises questions about the level of his power IMO.

He is a bit wild at times and hugely telegraphs the left hook. But he's young and getting better and seems very level headed. I'll certainly be interested in watching how he develops.

 

He wasnt that great at kickboxing/K1, and he wont go further then an english title in Boxing

 

He was the number one in Britain five years in a row before he took up boxing.

We will soon see how good Dillian is as he has 3 fights lined up before the end of the year and one of them could be for the English title- Not long to wait.

No disrespect to the Dillian, but being a national HW champ for 5 years in a sport which is all about what happens below 72 kilos, with the real business end below 60 kilos that isn't saying much. To add to that we in the UK have never really produced a top flight HW in the MT/Kickboxing arena of any real quality smaller guys yes, but not the with big boys, try looking at Holland, Japan, Switzerland and the States.

In the MT or Kickboxing world the bigger thay are the less important and skilled they are with the exception a very very select few .

Have you seen him fight MT or Kickboxing? If you haven't let's just say his boxing's better! I'm not surprised he switched to boxing he's got more chance of beating Vlad in boxing than a guy like Badr Hari in K1!:yep

 

He's decent from what i've seen but he has faced a real test as of yet. He does some nice things but he isn't consistent in his style. At times he looks a bit lazy and ragged then he gets some control of his work and looks pretty decent for a novice. His defence does worry me a little, seems happy handing it out but i don't know how he'll take it coming back at him. That's something he'll need to work on a lot before he steps up..

A lot of work, they shouldn't look to rush him yet. Just be sensible with him and try get him sparring out in Germany.
