:huh So you didn't actually read the thread did you? Your entire existence on this forum is one big fail.
The dropping for the floor was clearly a tactic used to avoid Wlad leaning all of his weight down on his opponents back and neck, which he does intentionally to wear opponents out, and without punishment. I don't think it was a bad tactic, and I don't think Wlad would get away with that half as much fighting outside of Germany. If some one is lunging in to reach Wlad one of his first instincts is to tie them up or lean on them (depending on how high they are coming in) to negate his lack of an inside game. Great analysis :good I think the fight gets unfairly judged, it wasnt great to watch if you just wanted a slug fest but from a technical point of view it was top notch. Wlad gets stick for being to negative but i think it was the best Wlad ive seen, he didnt put a foot wrong all night and gave Haye no chance whatsoever. Haye defensively was incredible against one of the best jabs ever, he just couldnt deal with Wlads ability to take a couple of steps back whenever he attacked. Wlads footwork is superb for someone of his size. I still think Haye beats Vitali though, he's not on Wlads level these days.
Yeah I don't think it was either, in retrospect he maybe did it once or twice when he shouldn't have, but Wlad is VERY good at using his size and considerable strength to his advantage. This content is protected Even after this punch Haye hits him with, he just pushes down on Haye's back/head. He is an incredibly strong man, when he pushes you somewhere, you go there. He's very good at doing it in ways that aren't obvious too, he does something Ali used to do a bit which was as soon as he overshoots a jab, he will push your head downward, he normally follows it up with holding. Which he definitely does/gets away with too much. Also Montero...as I've attemped to show here, I don't beleive Haye ran at all.
I'm not sure really, Haye isn't an accomplished inside fighter, though I was impressed with the way be bulled and backed down Chisora and did the better work in the clinches (though Chisora is no brilliant inside fighter himself) Haye prefers to fight on the outside, this is where most of his problem lay - He was a very good outside fighter, fighting against a better, bigger outside fighter. Him getting inside on Wlad literally almost every time resulted in Wlad holding him, and Haye dropping to his knee.
Tbh Haye isn't really an inside fighter, but he needed to be 'inside' of Wlad's range to have success with clean shots - Wlad is just too skilled and too crafty to allow that to happen.
Brilliant post vidic. The breakdown of the feinting of the jab is excellent. When I watched it live I was impressed by the all round speed of Wlad, I knew he had decent hand speed but his hand speed, foot speed and reflex's were exceptional. If haye had had better balance after throwing he maybe could have followed up the right hands and we might have had a different result. Great post again :good
