I wouldn't say it's cool but he broke no rules and draining himself that much didn't help him at all. More ***** logic.

Made Escobedo come down from 135 just so he could weigh in as a Lightweight himself.:patsch:lol:

Floyd would have fought Margarito....but Arum wanted to pay him less for Hatton.

Would you fight Hatton for less than Margarito........?

I'll be waiting for an honest answer:hi:

:nono Mayweather threw his money at JMM to get the weight changed for the fight so he wouldn't come in overweight. Sneaky ****er. :yep

I am one of the ones that have absolutely no problem with Floyd missing out on Margarito due to wanting terms that Arum should have (and could have) given him, he wanted the fight but Arum didn't.

Just because I'm a huge Floyd fan doesn't mean I have to cheerlead a B class wanna be. I'm neutral. You should try it :hi:

Escobedo drained himself to make 130. He had been fighting at 135 and he came down to fight Broner and Broner weighted in at Lightweight. Hardly any advantage. By far the dumbest post I've read on the subject and HOLY **** that's saying A LOT!!!!!!!!!

Exactly, Gatti made the weight. Now of course Gamachi was brain damaged from this fight and his career was ended, but at least Gatti made the weight. Well, actually, Gatti didn't make the weight. He weighed in at 141 lbs(the contract weight was 140). Furthermore, it was alleged by Gamcache that the scale wasn't centered at 141, meaning that Gatti was heavier than 141. Also NYSAC rules state that WW's aren't supposed to be separated by more than 12 lbs. Gatti was 160 on fight night compared to 144 for Gamache. Oh yeah, the NYSAC was investigated by the FBI and courts found that they were negligent during the pre fight weigh in.

So now we're splitting hairs and calling him out for every mistake he's made in the past?

Nobody is glad to see a fighter miss weight. But what are we supposed to do? At least Broner is doing the right thing by moving up in weight class. If you are so passionate about the act of missing weight you can always write long letters to the powers that be. Let's see how much of an impact you can make. Good luck with that.

I honestly don't give a **** if my favorite fighter gets crushed by a guy who didn't make weight. They obviously agreed on something in order for the event to proceed. It wasn't like my guy was forced to fight. He chose to be in the ring. He should be man enough to face whichever obstacle he has to deal with.

I'm guessing Gamache was saying the scale wasn't centered after he got the brain damage. I put very little stock in scales being "off" that's childs play.

The contract weight was 140 lbs. they were allowed to weigh in 1 lb. over that. However, this is where carefully reading comes in handy, the scale was not centered at 141 lbs. when Gatti weighed in which means he was even heavier than 141 lbs. This was not only over the contracted weight but also the 1 lb. allowance. Furthermore, the fight night weights weren't supposed to be more than 12 lbs. apart, they were 16 lbs. apart in weight. This was all backed up by the courts who declared that the NYSAC was negligent during the pre fight weigh in.
