    This is just a disgrace!

Adamek is now fighting a 33 year old Journeyman with a record of 39-7-1, who has no recognizable name on his record (if you do not count old want-a be contender Mehaan) instead of James Toney . Walker was KOD in 3 by Arreola and KOD on other occasions.

I have to say that I have rarely seen the media act so disgraceful in the past. No words of criticisms toward this matchup, yet they were all over Toney vs Adamek.

In his most recent report, Dan Raphael, did not issue one critical word for Walker-Adamek, yet he referred to Toney as a washed up, slurring, out of shape old man.

In my view, Toney who still has respectable 74-7 and who was never KOD, should have gotten the nod over this journeyman.

I am personally ashamed of Tampomat Adamek for fighting Travoris Walker, instead of Jeevnes Toney.

James Toney is indeed a washed up, slurring, out of shape old man, but he's still miles better than Travoris Walker. Adamek should have fought Toney, but he seemed too dangerous still... I mean, there'd be a 5% chance Toney would show up in shape for once and make life hard for Adamek. I know, it's
improbable, but with Toney you never know..

Why wasn't Toney-Adamek signed in the first place? Did Toney want more ca$h, or was the TV network not happy with the match-up? Or did Adamek think Toney was too much of a risk and might make him look bad?

his camp received so much criticism that they backed out, would you want to see another Toney-Ledebev? Walker at least has a punchers chance to win

Agreed. Toney-Adamek was so much criticized by the media and that is why Adamek backed out.

But remember, Toney was fighting on one leg against Lebedev and still managed to go 12 rounds against arguably the best cruiserweight in teh world.

Walker is by no means better than the 2012 version of Toney. Toney just made a big mistake by talking before actually having signed the contract. By doing so he may very well have blown his last chance to get a decent fight. Toney's team acted like a bunch of amateurs, they should have seen the bad publicity coming. Toney's performance, injured or not, against Lebedev did not help his case either.

As for Adamek, a stoppage win over Toney is worth a lot more than stopping journeymen like Walker. What a bad judgement on the long run...

    Its bull****.
Now instead of HOF fighters last opportunity, we get meaningless fight against a journeyman

This is a replacement for Ustinov who has unresolved visa issues, whom Adamek agreed to fight. Walker just beat Meehan has gone the distance with Pulev and Chagaev and always comes to fight. Has a great punch too. He is a solidified gatekeeper, probably the best active HW gate keeper. He is definitly better than todays wreck called James Toney. Finally, fighters would do well to take a page out of Adamek's book and fight more than once or twice a year. That is the real disgrace here. If anything, they'd be in better shape. Adamek fights who ever Main Events puts in front of him.

Man, you are full of ****

    Walker went the distance...

Man, Toney went the distance in about 90 fights, a lot of them against world class fighters.Toney only lost the Peter at heavyweight and has only 3 defeats since 1997.

If you take a closer look, Toney only has one true loss since 1997, his second Peter fight. In the Lebedev fight, he fought on one leg and he outboxed Peter in their first encounter.

Toney is not fit to fight anyone in the top 15 let alone Adamek. Today, Walker is the better fighter. Toney is a walking/talking circus act that does a damn good job of embarrassing the sport.

If you heard Toney talk recently you would know that he should not be boxing let alone boxing top 10 HW. Brain damage is no joke.

Im not sure if posts in this are serious or not....

So ill just go straight with it to be safe.

Walker is a legitimate fringe contender in the modern heavyweight division. He probably will never beat the elites, but is tough, big and can bang.

James Toney is 43 years old, obese, and whos prime was 15 years and 70 pounds ago.

Walkers win over Meehan is better than anything Toney has done in the last 5 or so years.

I actually feared for Toneys health going in against Adamek. While Im quite sure Adamek will beat Walker, I dont fear for his safety.

Toney is one of the best defensive fighters of all time. I was at ringside against Lebedev and can tell you that he took around half a dozen clear cut hard shots that's all. Don't get me wrong helost every round of the fight but he was never in danger of hurting himself. Even today's faded version of Toney, can clearly survive light punching Adamek. Itis a shame that Toney is denied the last significant fight he clearly deserves to call it a day.

Walker is an mere jounreyman and clearly not the cailiber of fighter that adamek should be fighting in order to progress as a hw.
