No, they're not. Vitali is, however, on the same level as Wladimir in terms of ability, and status. Haye failed so bad against Wladimir, and made himself look so stupid, one victory over a guy coming off three losses is not enough to all the sudden make him in position to challenge Vitali.


Take Victor Ortiz. He got humiliated by Floyd. If he came back, and beat, let's say, Timothy Bradley, would that all the sudden make him the most viable contender for Pacquiao? Of course not.

You lose, you go to the back of the line. The only reason people believe Haye is all the sudden some legitimate challenger for Vitali again is because they are casual fans, and don't really know a lot about boxing. They buy into hype, and talk. Just like they did for the Wladimir fight.

Toe logic. If you lose to one HW champion in embarrassingly one-sided fashion, you are right back in contention for a shot at the other HW champion because you beat his leftovers, who was coming off three straight losses.
