Wasn't Salita - who Khan fought at end of 2009 - Khan's mandatory before Maidana?

At most, he avoided Maidana for just one fight - his US debut against Malignaggi.

How the hell can you call it "luck"?.

They were only 3 rounds in and, with Khan being a speedy operator, it was always gonna' take Garcia - who's a slow starter - a moment or two to get his timing accurate. And even then, he got the hang of it pretty quick. He was brushing/tagging Khan a few times in the second, whilst a lot of the others were just wizzing inches away from the target.

His intentions were there. Plain to see. He meant to land the left hook (and any other punch) - regardless of whether it was on the neck or the chin. He was trying as early as the first round and he was getting closer and closer, to the point where it eventually landed on the button. That's not luck.

Edit: And lots of fighters look to the ground (or elsewhere) when punching. Especially when it's done whilst ducking/moving to evade a punch yourself. Didn't Pac knock Ricky out whilst looking to the floor? Sometimes you know where your target is, or where it's moving to go, and you unleash a hail-mary shot for it. It's still calculated in some way.

Waiting for a fight to brew is one thing. But avoiding a fighter because you are not "ready" yet is absolute bollox. Youre a world champion for ****s sake.

Why did he not rematch Prescott?

Why did so many of his earlier opponents share a common quality, very low KO % and very light punchers (however, he was still dropped regularly by even these sub-domestic class fighters)?

Two facts rights there, make our lad an absolute prize ducker.

Because Prescott was busy losing to Kevin Mitchell and Paul ****ing McCloskey. Why should Khan have fought him? They could fight now as they both need a big win to bounce back but it made no sense before.

Khan seems determined to get a Garcia rematch, i think he should be careful what he wishes for.

nobody knows what damage that beating has done to him psychologically, at this moment even Khan does not know.
what happens if he gets the rematch, is gun shy and gets knocked out again?

he keeps reminding everybody he is only 25, so there is no rush, he didn't rush to give Prescott a rematch and i suggest he does the same here.

Khan should go away work on a few things and correct some of the flaws in his game because just rushing back in at world level will do him no favours long term.

i reckon saj is advising him to take the rematch, he wants the spotlight more than amir by the looks of it and he also seemed more upset at the loss than him too, rematch is a bad idea imo although winnable if he loses he is rightly ****ed, still so young

    1. Khan was left needing an oxygen mask and stretcher to leave the ring after 1 minute against Prescott, surely a rematch is required, if he wants to prove he is a world class fighter?

    2. Khan only fought fighters with very low KO % and punch power and was still dropped numerous times early on in his career.

Ludicrous post. Firstly, he didn't rematch Prescott because after his comeback fight he fought MAB whilst Prescott promptly lost. He was then offered a world title fight. So fight for a world title or fight a guy who just lost and who nobody really rates? Of course he would take the world title fight.

The next bout Prescott went and lost again to Mitchell on the same bill that Khan defended his title. Do you think he has full say in his opponents?

****** got him a world title shot in the third bout since his loss and signed up Prescott too. Prescott then did shite and got beaten by Mitchell who was at domestic level. Zero reward in pushing for a fight.

Why didn't Manny Pac ever rematch Singsurat who knocked him out in a world title fight? Must be a ducker eh?

As for his early career, he was definitely protected and given non punchers. Again, who do you think made those decisions? Do you think Khan said "Guys I have an awful chin, give me feather fisted opponents"?

Seriously.:patsch ****** picked his opponents and did so to make as much money as possible. Since Khan left him, has he avoided punchers? Judah, Maidana, Garcia...

And after getting flattened, he wants to go right back into a rematch. Difference between that and the Prescott fight? Garcia is a world champion, the loss was in a major fight and he doesn't have a promoter looking to guide him back safetly as a cash cow.

I don't understand this "only 25" thing he and a few others keep going about with Khan in regards to his future prospects. Wasn't it generally accepted that Vargas was shot around that age?

It's not about how old you are it's about how shop worn and how many times you've been knocked out and Khan has been in some ageing fights.
