I don't think I've ever seen Martinez speak of Pacquiao in a good light, he's always criticizing and/or pretty much putting down Pacquiaos skills, even saying he wants to fight him. :patsch

I like Martinez and I am a big fan of his, but... is he jealous of Pacquiao?

I am not sure but he doesn't seem to hate Mayweather that much and he is also a big name with Pacquaio.

I am a Sergio fan but I also don't get his hate for Pacquaio.

In the early days when he was pursuing a fight with him, he was nice. But when it became clear the nice-guy routine wasn't gonna' work in landing a fight with him, he started trash-talking. It's all about keeping his name in the mix.

To be honest PAC is one cheesy dude. That being said he's an amazing fighter and an incredible credit to the sport. Sergio seems like a cool character with tons of swag, PAC seems like really good dude but swag...ehhh not so much.

No real boxing fans should dislike Pacquiao, he's one of a kind and a true warrior, regardless, Floyd was(probably still is) a big fan of Pacquiao's, just look at his fights with Morales where Floyd was ringside cheering for Pac.

He respects Floyd, but Floyd generally gets a lot of hate from all across the board, including media. Pacquiao is a media darling and Martinez does not seem to handle that fact well.

He thinks Manny is fake and doesn't respect him, that's pretty obvious.

If anything, Pacquiao has proved himself about 10x more than Sergio ever has.

Pacs first win over Barrera > anything that Sergio has produced to date.

emmanuel won the vacant 154 belt, which used to be Sergio's strap, but he refuses to fight again at that weight honorably, meaning no catchweight. Yes, it was a tough fight, but at no point was he ever in danger of losing. You could have gave margo(e) one or two rounds. After testing the waters at 154, emmanuel really has no need to try to issue catchweights at the weight.

    Sexy Sergio also disses Cotto(e).

emmanuel outright plays the quiet dumb foreigner role and acts ignorant to who Sergio is to brush it off whenever questioned about him. Cotto(e) has blatantly said he doesn't want to fight Sergio since the payday would be too low.
Actually, if you're a diehard boxing fan, you know the facts that casuals overlook. There's no way anyone can say his fight to win his 8th weight division belt wasn't one of the most bitchmade fights ever. Fighting antonio margarito(e), a nobody at the time coming off a one year suspension for attempted cheating, for a vacant belt at a catchweight.

Tall Paul was available at the time. What did emmanuel do? Pretend he didn't exist and go fight the disgraced cheater.

Now of course I'm not an emmanuel fan for more than just that reason and wasn't too high on him even before that, but his margo(e) fight leaves a bad taste for anyone who follows boxing and uses their head to think along the way.

NO. He "needed" it in the sense of getting his vengeance and "confidence" back, but in no way would I say it's a GOOD win.

That's why I'm kind of disappointed he wants to go to 160. The 154 division is red hot right now. Beat at least one relevant 154 pounder before moving onto the 160 division.
