It's a step too far for Mayweather. As a natural middle weight Hagler would be too big, too strong and too good.

 

Haglers to big for Floyd. He would walk him down, and possibly stop him late.

Floyd is good, I'm a big fan of his...but come on now, you can't be serious thinking Floyd would win against Hagler. Marvin would stalk him down and talk trash while smiling through Floyd's punches.

 

Floyd would beat Duran and SRL 130-140.

 

This is far too heavier for Floyd.

Here he's fighting a man who could willingly let Floyd hit him with his best shot and it wouldn't trouble him. I doubt in Floyd's entire career he has thrown a punch that would trouble Hagler.

The workrate and strength of Hagler is far too much.

Why do people put Floyd in these ridiculous h2h contests? So posters can get a rise out of saying Floyd loses easily?

Hagler is a natural middleweight and Floyd at his best was at 135.

Negative on all counts. The only versions that Hearns got is 147 to close to 200lbs. Hearns wins bc he is so much naturally bigger than Floyd.
Floyd will embrass SRL and Duran 140 and down.

People also need to drop that bull about SRL and Duran as some super boxers. A blind man can see that FLoyd got more boxing ability than all of those classic boxer hagler, hearns, SRL and Duran. If they are the same size Floyd beats them.

All of those four lost to lesser opponents and they reign of dominance was much shorter. Speaks volume. I swear people can't think for themselves on this site.

Mayweather isn't invincible either. Hearns has a lot more than just size going for him. If a 37 year old Mosley could connect on Mayweather and hurt him, so could Thomas Hearns in his prime could do a lot more. Hearns has comparable speed AT WORST, one-punch knockout power, a sharp left jab with the deadly right hand behind it, and a height + reach advantage. Stylistically, Hearns is the worst possible matchup for Mayweather because trying to box him isn't going to work. What helps Leonard is not so much the fact that he's a natural welterweight but the fact that he's been in there with and beaten the best defensive fighter of his own era in Wilfred Benitez, as well as Floyd senior when he was working his way up the rankings. Only Duran beat Leonard in his prime, but Mayweather is nothing like Duran stylewise and would instead box Leonard, like Benitez did. Leonard's had tougher tests than Mayweather and beaten them.

 

True enough, but actually watching all of them fight and assessing their strengths and weaknesses can certainly result in an informed opinion. And in my opinion, the Duran that beat SRL would beat any version of Mayweather. And at 135 I'd say the Duran who beat De Jesus in their 3rd fight would also beat Mayweather at 135. Mayweather's never been in a trenchwar in his life, Duran would force him to actually have to fight.

The Hearn's who fought Hagler would also easily beat Mayweather. And SRL does everything Mayweather does, but he has more power and most likely a better chin. He also doesn't pot shot an much, and he throws more combinations.
