That's all because of the politics and money.
A late 73-early 74 Foreman would have put both Quarry & Shavers out to lunch.

    Correct,

Gil Clancy was never really serious about the 'December 1973' Jerry Quarry
    fighting George Foreman in early-1974.

He was just looking for a 'big money' send off for Jerry.

Ya don't like dem black boys much,do ya,squire?

"Thompson's hand gesture at the end...just to remind people that he's a n^gger in case they didn't notice.
This stare down crap is show biz bull**** anyway."

Though perhaps it's unfair of me to assume that the "melvinfurd" account belongs to you.

Trot out the race card, eh, "squire"? Mustn't dare say anything negative about the designated politically corrected "super-heroes" like Clay-Ali, huh, "Squire"? The proles are forbidden to notice that the emporer isn't wearing any clothes, ain't that right, "squire"?

Are you denying that this particular account belongs to you? Or is it a mere coincidence that this other fellow is also wrestling fan with racist-like tendencies?

    And yes,Ali is untouchable; can't say anything remotely negative about him.Pepe' can,because he's amusing.You,on the other hand,are an insufferable,grade A ****.

You'll put me on your ignore list and go ahead and view my post anyway, simply because you can't help yourself. And even if you're capable of resisting the urge to view my post, the ignore function on this site doesn't prohibit me from posting in this thread for others to read.

The fact that you couldn't answer a basic,straight-forward question is enough for me to assume that this account does belong to you.Why you're too gutless to own up to it,however,is a mystery. There's nothing wrong with being a racist, lad.

And yes, that is my pic.Quite a dashing you chap I was in my younger days.

'Irish' Jerry Quarry vs 'Irish' Tony Doyle

Was on the undercard of the 'Muhammad Ali vs Ken Norton II' fight at 'The Forum' in California.

According to Gil Clancy, Dick Saddler agreed to fight Jerry Quarry next, if he looked good
versus 'one time fringe contender' and now a 'trial horse' - 'Irish' Tony Doyle.

Gil Clancy, was one gullible guy.

Well, no, he's not 'untouchable' tho I'm in your corner in the idiot attacks against you.
I think he's the greatest HW of all time simply because we never saw him in his prime (summer-67, summer-70)
But his 'second career' is wide open for major debate. In retrospect, he played many of us for fools.

    Lets not lose focus.

The 'victory' KO 1 over Earnie Shavers in December 1973 did not get Jerry any easy ride.

In retro-spect, his career floundered after that win.

    A) A failed attemot to get a Title Shot versus George Foreman for 1974.
    B) A near 1st-Round Knock-out loss to 'club-fighter' Joe Alexander (May 1974)
    C) A 'bad-beating' by Joe Frazier (June 1974)
    D) Late-night partying (late-1974)
    E) A 'dull and uninspiring' 10-Round Decision over 'journeyman' George Johnson (February 1975)
    F) A 'battering' by Ken Norton (March 1975)

    Quarry outclassed Shavers.
Shavers was way too slow and too easy to hit.
    Overated.

Some of "The Greatest - Hype Job" Clay-Ali's phony wins in his "first career":

    Liston 1 and 2
    Henry Cooper 1
    Doug Jones
    Alonzo Johnson
