I dont get it either. I like Haye a bit and I think he is talented but for someone who claims to be "the best heavyweight in the world,"why not prove it? He's only 31 years old and has been in very few wars. Has a great record and loves money. Why not stay active and beat some guys. Why not force either Wlad or Vitali into a fight. Wlad will honor mandatories as we have seen with the Thompson situation. No Haye would rather wait and be inactive and then earn it. For a smart guy,he does some dumb ****.

Hmm... I'm not understanding what you're saying. Maybe I'm not being clear with what I'm trying to say. What I'm trying to say is I want Haye to jump into the HW division and adopt the attitude that he'll fight whoever, whenever. There's nothing wrong with chasing a fight but to say "it's Vitali or no one" is ridiculous to me. If you really want to fight, prove it, take a fight against Arreola, Povetkin or Adamek (etc.). He'll have a better argument if he does that and he'll have an even better argument if the WBC deems him the mandatory challenger. I'll say it again, I like like to see Haye fight and the thought of him not fighting if he doesn't get Vitali pisses me off because I'd like to see him fight whoever.
I read on a Russian site that Haye got $15 mln for the fight with Wlad, and $3.5 mln for the fight with Chisora. Now that he beat Chisora in style you could make a case for him getting $10 mln against Vitaly. Fighting is always a risk, no matter who you fight. Vitaly won't be around for long. Why risk a chance to get $10 mln by getting, say, $1mln (outside of the Chisora fight there is nothing big out there for Haye apart from the K-bros)? If Vitaly retires things may change. Wlad beat Haye once, so to make a Wlad rematch marketable Haye would need to stretch a couple of tall guys. I doubt Haye would truly retire early. But so long as Vitaly is around, don't expect Haye to fight someone else.

Povetkin deserved a shot like 4 years ago when he won the IBF tournament and got rated #1. He sat on it for 2+ years ducking his mandatory shot at Wlad. Then he goes life and death with Chagaev to win his paper title and defend it against complete bums, nearly losing to one of them. He doesn't deserve ****. That's not to say I wouldn't mind seeing Wlad lay his ass out.
