Guys like Rigondeaux would also be a 10, but that would be because he would be compared to other small fighters, not for example compared with chad dawson, but a donaire, gamboa etc...
Wlad has excellent technique with the jab and the straight right. His left hook is pretty good as well. His uppercuts and hooks on the inside and his work to the body are clumsy or none existent. Rating his technique 10/10 says to me you really haven't studied him closely. I'd say a 7 or maybe an 7.5 is more apt. He's very, very good at some things and weak in other areas. A 10 for technique is more a ward, rigo or floyd (even then you could maybe see a case for those fighters being 9.5, there are still things they don't do perfectly)
Rigondeaux, floyd and ward are comparatively far smaller than wlad. You can't compare a heavyweight to these smaller fighters, maybe 10 isn't right, but he is definitely atleast a 9. ward, floyd are rated highly but not by comparing them to a heavyweight but rather a similar sized fighter
if you stopped there, how did you read further on? if you read further on, you would have read the rest
:huh Koing cruserweights and lightheavyweights doesnt make you a harder puncher then VLAD . Dont beleave the mythicle bull**** .
thats just a matter of opinion, that's not important, I was trying to explain a point that a heavyweight is a heavyweight - you shouldn't rate them in terms of P4P in the same division
Technical Ability 9.5 Defence - 8 Offence - 9 Footwork - 9 Accuracy - 9 Power - 9 Speed - 8 Versatility - 8 Stamina - 8 Heart - 10 Chin - 7 OVERALL: 9
I agree with the posters assessment overall. Wlad's chin is terrible, though with Emanuel Stewards help he was able to hide his achilles heel alot better. Through clinching when in trouble or when his opponent is in close. While Haye rocked him towards the end of their fight, the last fighter to drop and make Wlad look bad was Sam Peter back in 05. So for the last 7 years alot of credit has to given to Wlad and Emanuel for shielding a once terrible kink in his armor.
In my opinion he wanted the KO badly, but wasn't willing to risk getting KO'd himself, like I said a great offensive fighter could have if he wanted to take out Haye. You have to look at haye fight critically against wlad since it was his biggest test at his peak and he didn't perform
Wlad chin is not that bad he was never knocked out. Peter knocked Wlad down with rabbit punches, hard punches. Boxers are humans and boxing is not a game on TV or PC. The blood is for real. And clinching is a part of boxing. Emanuel Steward teaches Wlad all the things which are necessary in professional boxing. In professional boxing a defence is very very important and today Wlad´s defence is much better than before 2004.
Haye landed one good punch on Wlad and that stunned him - the guy is a cruiserweight, what about the brewster fight he showed no chin what so ever - He was Knocked out
