broner whipped this dudes ass 5 round TKO.... if the weight was equal the best case scenario for escobedo would have been a 7 round tko ass whooping still

fighters grow out of weight sometimes and it happens over night.... its not like broner has been someone that makes a habit of coming in over weight like rios past 2 or 3 fights... is the big issue because vicente was crying after the fight?

who cares he would have been crying if the weight was equal or not.... plus he could have skipped the fight

It’s not professional. It paves the way for other big names with powerful backers not bothering to adhere to contracted weights because they think they can just throw money at their opponents to make everything alright. Well, it’s not alright. Especially if one guy is having to bust his ass off, whilst the other can walk in at whatever he wants.

And Broner’s case is made worse by the fact that he made little attempt to hit 130 (eating junk food in the week of fight). He then takes the **** further by not even honouring the 140 limit the morning after. At least Rios made an effort in his failures. Unlike Broner, he actually went back and tried to sweat it off to make the original weight (not giving his body the chance to rehydrate properly). Broner, however, dismisses the need for having another go at 130, goes back to eating Twinkies, and then fails to make 140 .

i hear what both of you are saying but its not going to start some trend or anything.... fighters have been missing weight for years and years... especially the way people boil down to fight at lower weights....

its just his time to move up and it happened for this fight. If he does it again I will respect everyones complaints

Yeah, he's obviously a massive dude for super feather, and so I'm not mad at him for not making weight. I'm just disappointed by his attitude in not doing it.

But it's happened now and he'll move up. Looking forward to him taking on guys closer to his size now. I can see GBP putting him in with Katsidis at some point. He's way past his best but will still bring. Good learning curve.

lol he should fight katsidas now..... thats a perfect fight if katsidas would sign the contract

I think he was humble about the weight issue during his interview with max... just said his time at the weight is over which is cool.. it happens with every boxer in their career atleaset once I feel like.... unless they are HWs

Well, the way he was acting during the weigh-in commotion, he wasn't so humble. Refusing to try for the weight again and acting like it wasn't his fault. According to Esco's team, anyway.

But yeah, the Katsidis fight would be a perfect for him. A solid name, and a style that could make him look good. He could be the Gatti that Mayweather had.

    Is David Haye humble???????????...

Why are American Black fighters the only ones required to be humble??

If his name were Adrian Benitez(and 10 shades lighter) you wouldn't care how cocky he is..:deal

Joe Calzhage wasn't humble....he was an arrogant delusional ducking coward.

    Froch isn't humble...not by a long shot.

Ricardo Mayorga sure as hell didn't practice humility....but he was "good for the sport"..

That humble talk is just to mask why ya'll REALLY hate Broner..:yep

Look at this greasy ***** revising history...

What round was Broner on one knee...?

Ponce was swing at air all night...Broner clearly won that fight:deal
