    Lucky punch?!

He was looking for it from literally the 1st exchange!

He was telegraphing it too, which makes it even more ridiculous Khan allowed himself to get hit with it!

If he's not Saj, then he's someone close to Saj and the camp. The butthurtedness he's displayed here mirrors that of Saj's. He's also spoken out at the criticism towards Saj in Saj's thread.

You don't seem to get it. Rahman knocking out Lewis was not a lucky punch. He landed several big shots before that. Lewis got KOd by a man who aimed to KO him and was getting closer and closer. However, as soon as the rematch was made I said Lewis would KO him, because the reason he got beaten was that he did not prepare properly, was out of shape, complacent and got done. 100% his own fault, but NOT a lucky punch.

Khan may well win a rematch. I could see him being sensible and boxing him without getting too involved, maintain range, not stand so flat centre ring, trying to put extra weight on shots etc.

That would not change the fact that it wasn't a lucky punch in there first fight.

All of that aside, I am more interested in your hilariously ignorant and outright bizzare claim that "most KOs come from left hooks".

Care to expand on that one?

Reminded me of Williams vs Martinez II. You could see Martinez trying to land that left from the start. In 2 rounds It almost connected a ridiculous number of times. Each one was getting closer and closer and Williams was just walking on to it.

The point was that the left hook is often the orthodox boxers most powerful weapon, I don't have stats but I presume it is also responsible for more knockouts than other punches because of the aforementioned reason.

Everyone talked about Garcia's left hook before the fight started. All he threw were hooks. It doesn't take a genius to guess that if there is a knockout it probably would come via a left hook. Such a prediction is not necessarily indicative of astute reading of the first two rounds, just an educated guess.

Luckily for you strike, you haven't been as over the top in your criticism towards Khan as some. So you can avoid taking the bet without much loss of face. The others seem to have disappeared.

My point is this: it was a fair fight and a fair victory, that doesn't mean it wasn't lucky and it certainly doesn't mean Garcia is a better boxer than Khan.
I concede Amir has flaws but I don't think he needs to start over. All boxers have strength and weaknesses. He can beat Garcia -and most other boxers-doing what he does best, stick and move.

I'm am not Saj or in any way connected with Team Khan.

When a fighter repeatedly goes for a particular punch, getting closer and closer to the target and even clipping/finding the mark as the rounds go on, how can you claim it's a lucky punch when it eventually does what it wanted it to do?

That's like a striker having 5 attempts on goal, before finally hitting the back of the net on the 6th go, and then calling him lucky for it.

I don't think he was getting closer, he was missing a lot. It was lucky in the sense that if it hadn't hit him in that very particular spot on the neck Amir wouldn't have gone down.
I doubt many are willing to put money on Garcia in a rematch, even those that are crowing about the victory and how predictable and planned it all was! This, too, is indicative it was luck and most people know it.

    :rofl
if somebody throws a punch they mean it to land, i've never heard a boxer say "I tried to miss with that shot".

Being lucky is getting nearly 20 seconds to recover from the first knockdown and the referee giving you overly long pauses and every chance at each knockdown.

I like Khan and would class myself as a fan. He's got heart and good hand speed but I was dissapointed with his recent performance against Garcia. It wasn't a lucky punch but i think Khan was a bit unlucky to get hit on the spot he did but that was his own fault because of his lack of defence. I don't think he's got a glass chin/jaw but its certainly not great and if his game plan is to defend with his face then obviously he's a KO waiting to happen. What makes it worse is that he actually looks to get hit flush so he can prove he doesn't have a glass chin/jaw.

I think he can comeback and if he can find a good trainer to tighten up his defence then i think he can go on to achieve great things. I think he now realises this though evene though he's not clearly stating it in interviews. I think it's a bad idea for him to have an immediate rematch with Garcia. He's saying he's young and got plenty of time so why not take time to sort yourself out and then come back? If he does rematch Garcia and win then I can't help but think he won't look to improve his flaws and will get KO'd again in the near future.

    Or trakam

if you are convinced the punch was lucky we could reverse it all and say Garcia was UNLUCKY not to land the punch earlier. he stepped in and threw it enough and missed so really he was more unlucky than lucky.

Damn, when you think about it Garcia was very unlucky, threw the same shot about 20 times and missed with 19...
