Even if Garcia lands that punch in the rematch, i don't think he will beat Khan. Khan beat himself with his obsession with having a shoot out, after he was badly hurt. Any boxer with any sense, would of got on their bike and tied the other guy up, Khan just wanted a shoot out while he was still badly hurt.

And in the process he did start to tag Garcia.

Garcia couldn't even probably finish Khan who has a shakey chin, and who was having a shoot out with him.

Khan was in better shape, when the fight was stopped!! He was in better shape when comparing it to his first knock down.

David Haye would of had afew knock-out losses if he would of had Khan's mentality.

    Lulz what?

Can you say for sure that if it hit him on the chin, or on the temple, or on the face, etc, Khan definitely wouldn't have gone down?

Look, noone here is saying Garcia purposefully went to punch him on the neck. We're saying Garcia was purposefully timing Khan coming in, and was looking to land the punch anywhere on the target - be it the chin, temple, ear, neck or whatever. His aim was to connect the punch. An connect he did. It was not a lucky punch.

Who cares if it was lucky or not it landed and Khan got stopped.
He/his team should be worrying about why wild swings such as that "Lucky" punch land in the first place and making sure they don't happen again.

exactly, there was so much luck in this fight, Khan was very lucky, Garica was very lucky and they were both unlucky.

    :huh

It's quite funny when you think about it. In a fight where punches are flying about, Khan's unlucky to get hit by one of them. :rofl:rofl

    Maybe... depends

For that to happen I suggest Khan gets the same referee if there is a rematch so next time he can give Khan 25-30 seconds to recover from the first knockdown and break the action for even longer periods for Khan to try and recover.

That was about the correct ratio, I agree.

Let me put it this way: I am much more admiring of a person who takes aim at a target and then proceeds to hit it than I am of someone who fires blindly, hoping that if he fires enough times eventually it will hit.

Garcia was running out of time, if his face looked like that after two rounds then he wouldnt have had many left.

Anyway, in one match Stoke could beat Barcelona, doesn't make them a better team.

lennox was also filming the movie oceans eleven just prior to the fight and did not have time to aclimate himself to the timechange in south africa.

regarding your lennox ko pick in the rematch, angelo dundee predicted that rahman would win the rematch.

    I know

the more I think about it the more i'm going with Garcia was unlucky, unlucky not to land the shot earlier.
throwing that many looping left hooks and only landing one... how unlucky is that?

This gets better. Two rounds had only gone. It was just a cut from a clash of heads. The third round - where Garcia began bothering Khan with a few body shots - suggested he was far from running out of time.

    Go watch the fight again.

They did occasionally land, about one in twenty I think we agreed, but they didn't hurt Amir. It was the one that caught him on the neck that did he damage. Amir could have easily gone through the fight without that punch connecting on that very spot. It was 1in a 2.34 billion chance, if my Maths are correct. With that number increasing exponentially with every round as Garcia missed more and more.

anyone betting on khan in the future does not know much about boxing.

in recent times, very few fighters have been ko'd that badly (prescott/garcia)and have ever recovered.

possibly holyfield and wlad but i cant think of anyone else. i believe he goes the way of taylor and continues to get kod. taylor still had a better punch resistance and skillset compared to khan even after getting kod by froch and pavlik.

if history is any indication, khan is a fade.

thats the way i saw it. khan has no punch resistance left and was going to get kod lucky punch or not.

and danny garcia does not have a lot of power and is very, very slow.
