Cos Roy Jones knew he had one of the worst jaws in history, and Benn would have exposed him before journeymen Tarver and Johnson did.

Jones didn't fight a lot of the better fighters of his era.

In the dark arts book when asked about roy jones benn didn't seem to confident in winning he had a "i will try my best attitude".

He said he didnt mind being number 2 to Roy Jones.
To be fair Benn was damaged goods after the Mclellan war, Jones would have boxed his ears off, so im kind of glad they didnt meet. The Benn of the Gman fight though wouldhave given Jones a fight.
Incidentally, i think Jones would have struggled with Mclellans power and intensity.Think he would have given Jones the toughest fight out of all the MW'S and SMW's of that era.

I think Jones would have won a safety first lopsided decision

Now Eubank would have gave Jones a very interesting fight, with his granite chin and fast accurate counter punching, he may just have caught Jones and stopped him whilst being behind on points.

But Jones would remain the strong favourite with any bookie on earth...

I think Jr probly would have won too was just curious if there was ever serious talks.

Just rewatching Benn vs McClellan again
Cant believe Benns cheekbone was smashed in and he had a fractured jaw and how the **** did he get up in round 1?
How many fighters would honestly have gotten up or fought on with a broken jaw and cheekbone.

Hard, hard man. He also had the ligaments in his neck torn after about 30 seconds. Beyond belief really.

I always felt that Eubank was the toughest fight out there, RJJ echoed this thought as well.

All I know is had Gerald won he was to face Jones next ..I believe King was the issue with the Benn Jones fight ..I think Gerneral Zod will post something explaining the situation ..
