I'd say Leonard stylistically- good question though. Duran at 135 at his best was something else.

2 of the few guys I don't think he has a good chance against....He could feasibly beat either one of them, and would be a tough fight for either of them but I don't think he has a great chance of beating either one of them.

    Floyd isn't beating Leonard.

I think he has a better chance against Duran, but that would be a tough fight too.

This about covers it.A come forward style fighter is made for Floyd, even at LW and whilst he'd be tougher than anyone FMJ will ever face, stylistically,of the four kings,Duran is the one that Floyd is best suited to,although he has the feints to get in and quite possibly put some serious hurt and a beating on him(Floyd)
Ray however is the most complete fighter of the last 35 years and is the one fighter that springs to mind if you had to pick one person who could beat Floyd.
It's no slant on Cholo to admit that Floyd is quite wrong for him.:nono

I think Leonard's intangibles put him as a live fighter in any match-up. You can't count out prime SRL in any fair fight with anyone. But on paper, dealing only with "tangibles," I still think prime Hearns is the worst match-up with anyone at 147. Tommy was a Frikin beast. In the 28 fights at 147 leading up to the loss against SRL, only one went the distance. He put everyone else to sleep.

Stupid point, especially since 154 is so far from his best weight. Thats like sayin based on the hitman fight floyd will kick his ass. Duran fights nothing like a big, in shape, motivated oscar(duran is better but styles make fights).

Floyd will have an easier time dealing with Duran. Stylewise Duran is just too slow to keep up with Floyd.

I would favor Floyd over SRL 130-140. Favor SRL 147+

    Not a bad point.:yep
But I do think Floyd has the smarts to at least make the first half competitive. We'll never know how Tommy would have coped with 12 hard rounds against a quality operator like Floyd at 147.He didn't do too well when the going got tough against Ray.I'm sure it was a weight thing.I don't buy into Tommy having a glass chin. For me it's more about having too skinny legs and therefore no recuperative powers.
154 is a different matter though.Tommy is worse for Floyd than Ray at that point.

    What trouble?:huh
It was Ray's what? 14th or 15th fight? I know there was some talk years later about Floyd having a bad hand but even Cossell said Floyd was a notorious light puncher.
And Ray stopped him.Not bad considering Floyd was known for being a tough and resolute opponent and the stages of their respective careers.

He was beating Ray. Remember Angelo saying "You're blowing it son!" That's when Ray kicked it up a notch. Maybe if Tommy had more experience with longer fights he would've had the stamina to finish out the fight. What's the record for Hearns v. Leonard if they fight 3 times at 147? I certainly don't know.

Where Ray's intangible is kicking it into hyper-drive, Floyd makes technical adjustments. That's why Floyd is a tough fantasy match-up, we don't know what adjustments he would or could make against any fighters. There are fights that SRL fought at 147 that Floyd would have an easier time with and vice versa. But that's styles, Floyd technically dominates his opponents and Ray would have just knocked out people like Baldomir, Judah and Corley.

Prime SRL physically dominates his opponents. Prime Floyd physically and mentally dominates his opponents. Floyd gets in the ring, figures out what you're trying to do, and then optimizes against it. Some fights you can look at and just say X is going to happen and be fairly certain about it. That's not a Floyd fight. I think there are too many possibilities when you look at FMJ v. ATGs.

A two handed Sr would have put on an even better performance that night, if i remember correctly Sr stopped throwing his right hand after round 5.

Sr. doesn't win a round against Jr. The entire fight looks like Mosely rounds 3 and 4.
